Boy, I really love...

the funk rave-up on My Computer.

It's just...so...damn...funky! It stanks.

The guitar....especially the keyboards...Prince at his most perfect.

Never again...

What do you really love...about P's music?

I love the honesty and dare-I-Say humility of this song. I know a young man in his teens who really loves this song. I was pleased to find out.

I love the lyrics, too. "I said no...I ain't dead, yet. What about you? I can count my friends with a peace sign...one, two! Every Sunday night, stead of doing what I usually do ...I...".

I love that shit!

"Evil incorporated...blowing up bombs and things. I have a child...I have a lot to explain!"

I can't think of what comes after that but...I love that line.

There's plenty of his honest songs out there like Annie Christian, Sign O' the Times, Free, The Love We Make...there's deepness and realness to be found in each one.

Annie Christian: killed black children and what's fair is fair...if you try to say you're crazy...somebody say Electric Chair...Electric Chair.

Sign O' the Times: It's silly, no...when a rocket ship explodes...and everybody still wants to fly...some say a man ain't happy unless a man...truly dies..oh why...times...time

Free: Be glad that you are free...there's many a man who's not...

The Love We Make: Pity all those with no hope for tomorrow...it's never as bad as they say

Prince...never again...

I love almost all the songs on Emancipation, My Computer being one of my favourites. I also like Kate Bush's vocals, subtly placed but nevertheless very present, bringing a touch of her atmostphere and making this song even more delightful.

They're all over the song! You just need to listen with headphones, and they are more recogniseable in the second part of the song.
