what about Elvis, MJ, LIttle Richard, Madonna, etc., impersonations, some by other celebs? Why should Prince be excluded?

There's Dread Zeppelin who does reggae versions of Led Zeppelin songs with an Elvis impersonator as the lead singer. Lots of people go to see tribute bands. PBS used to show entire concerts by Beatles & Pink Floyd tribute bands and there were many people in the audience. Phil Collins actually sat in on drums one time in the Genesis tribute band The Musical Box who only does Peter Gabriel era stuff. There's another band who does Beatle songs in a Metallica style called Beatallica and the all women tribute band Lez Zeppelin.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Cant wait for it tomorrow night. Better get a BIG bowl of popcorn started for this one. I hope it is well done, and just keeping his music in the public forefront helps my soul. Now can someone tell me why he is not in the Songwriter's Hall of Fame? Surely the controversies of the 80's and 90's are over by now... Does Tipper Gore still want to blackball him on this? Just askin.

question

Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...

well it being a 'sitcom' doesn't equal 'cheesy'

I still don't like the comical way t seems to be presented.

Prince wasn't a clown, and the styles were reflective of the music.

Go hand in hand. dunce

Have U ever watched Blackish before? The show is brilliant with how they handle tough subjects like racism and other social ills. They know how to be serious when the need arises.

You'll see.

Oh YEAH. They got all up into the name change, the word Slave on the face.

Grandma been reading his liner notes. This is so cool. I think he'd kind of like this. There's humor but its balanced with teaching the audience some things of substance about him.

I've read that a while back but I don't recall the source and I don't think I was ever sure it was really the meaning P. intended for the song.
