Spotify has more albums now

I guess I had to casually browse Prince albums today to discover a good handful of albums added that were previously missing.

Just a headsup if you didn't know either.

That's what I'm sayin'. It's been all over the Org and in the news. And there is a sticky about it from around a month ago: http://prince.org/msg/7/456070

For me, that album has always had more problems with it than SOTT does.

While SOTT suffered a few mishaps here and there with things like "Forever In My Life" or "Dorothy Parker", in contrast, Lovesexy is just maxed out across the board. It seems - and it's been noted on here - that the levels on every damn input on white hot. Even Eric Leeds mentioned that to Prince during the process, but of course, Prince thought he knew better. I'd have to say it's given listeners a lot of problems enjoying the record. Things like "Alphabet St" or "Lovesexy" seems white hot in EQ (using that as a generic term), whereas things like "Anna Stesia" or "I Wish U Heaven", maybe even "Glam Slam" seem either muted, muffled, or otherwise lacking clarity and a proper balance of sound.

As far as Spotify, I am not sure where all that falls. I'm not even sure how much a remastering would help it since it was recorded at such high levels to begin with. It always seemed like an album that has the potential to be this clear, crisp yet warm sonic quality record. But it feels like a toss-up - depending what you're listening to the album with - whether it's a subtle or subconscious irritant or a pleasure.
