News segment: The NPG, PRINCE'S ‘Best Band Ever,’ Set To Rock First Avenue, plus the NPG perform "The Morning Papers"

Check out the following news segment produced by WCCO CBS Minnesota entitled "The NPG, Prince’s ‘Best Band Ever,’ Set To Rock First Avenue":

"MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — One of Prince’s bands — which he is said to have dubbed “the best band ever” — is getting ready to play at First Avenue Thursday night, and WCCO has an exclusive sneak peek..."

I'm I the only one bothered by the NPG being officially touted as "Prince's Best Band Ever"?

And, strange thing is, I most likely agree that they are. But, it seems wrong to use that in an official publicity. #tryingtoohard #spoonfeedingthepeople

Yeah it's like their hyping just to sell tickets which they don't have to.

Plus NPG was so many things. It wasn’t one specific band.

They are kind of making some arrogant claims. They weren't the first or last NPG. However, I must say since the NPG even in these performances changes members maybe they did mean all configurations of the NPG. It is kind of slam on the Revolution too. The Revolution states they were the only band he was in, but they never claim they were technically the best. The configuration of the NPG that is John Blackwell, Rhonda, Maceo, Mike Scott, and Neto are this NPG's equal and in some ways better because they never pushed Prince into rap.
