Prince discography is shrinking on Tidal

Just noticed a few more albums were removed from Tidal's streaming service: TGE, Rave, TRC, 3121. Can't remember if PE was there or not.

Sadly Tidal still has more albums than the other streaming services offer. Hope all of his albums will be available for streaming sooner than later.

I wish the estate would come out with their own subscription streaming Prince service, but I seriously doubt that'll ever happen.

Yes, it was there. And yes the album list is shrinking. Hm.

They were there earlier today. I left for a while and when I came back I saw that songs from 20 Ten, C Note, The Chocolate Invasion, PE and Lotusflow3r had been removed from my playlist.

So, are those albums part of the recent addition to Spotify, Google, etc?

Apple Music doesn’t have any albums from 1994-2013. I’m assuming it’s the same with Spotify. Hopefully the removal from Tidal means these albums are coming to all streaming services soon.

Just looked to make sure. Not true, there's a bunch missing.

EDIT: Ok, so sort of there, sort of not there. The "Anthology 1995-2010" album is on spotify, but the only song available to actually play is "We March", idk. Still not the majority of the missing content. Don't really get the point of this.

EDIT 2: Ok nevermind. Just realized it's based on timezones. Carry on.

Sorry for going Reddit on you /w the edits.

Darn it! I was going to buy one more album for sure off Tidal that I've never been able to find elsewhere for a reasonable price - namely 20ten - but hadn't gotten around to it yet ):

They're all back on Tidal now. This was probably due to the new deal with Sony for the 1995-2010 material that has now appeared on all streaming services.

Tidal does still have a few exclusives and all of the 'Purple Picks' though.

Those albums were licensed to WB. TGE is a weird one that doesn’t seem to have a home.

I don’t see non-WB albums on Apple Music. confused

Yeah, I guess it was just temporary until they rolled out this anthology release across all the streaming platforms

I do like their exclusives like the 'Purple Picks' and I love Prince's playlist 'Always' of some of his favorite love songs. I like that they have the internet only releases too. I see they have now added all of them back with the exception of Parade. Glad to see they included Emancipation, Crystal Ball and One Nite Alone Piano & Voice.

I don't know if this was posted anywhere else on the .org, but there was a promotion a few days ago where you could download Nicki Minaj's new album for free using the voucher code "QUEEN". However, someone discovered that you could use the code on any album, and there was a window of several hours where people were downloading virtually anything they wanted to from Tidal - for free lol. There hasn't been any kind of backlash online yet, but I know it will be coming once artists find out that Tidal is responsible for thousands of lost album sales. I can't see Tidal lasting too much longer if they keep fucking up like they have this year.

Yet another of many reasons streaming sucks. It's better to own that stuff cuz if it gets taken down you're screwed.

I wanted him to do his own streaming app, with new music produced on all his bands and protoges, but they said "it would take too long" to set-up. I still think it's a better solution.

Agreed. Or at least have it as an 'add on' with another service.
