Why is Omarr getting a cease and desist?

To my understanding, just for having Prince related images on his social media. * [Edited 8/16/18 11:43am]

That's so silly, can't even have pictures of his own brother on his media.

You've hurt your feefee? You might want to see your gyeno about that.
If you ever lose someone dear 2 U, never say the words "they're gone". They'll come back.

You notice him and his feefee are quiet right now.

As far as the bolded part:

"eye don’t really care so much what people say about me because it is a reflection of who they r."

I am the one who initially posted this a few months back. Funko hasn't even formally announced these yet, but they are real. I got my 3rd Eye Girl version today.

I love Funko Pops and have lots and lots -- I LOVE them.

How do you already have it

Funko products come out around the country at different times. For some reason Texas/Oklahoma frequently get stuff early (Funko is headquartered in Washington state though).

I also snagged the Around the World in a Day / Raspberry Beret one today! I don't like it as much as the 3rd Eye Girl version, but still looking forward to having the full set.

1. I don't think Prince would approve.

2. If the estate want money, they are sitting on the biggest musical/video pile in entertainment history.

3. I'm well aware of the Funko Pop trend, but dead artists just reeks of expolitation.

4. I hope Prince fans would know better.

5. Why does anyone need Prince 'stuff' beyond his performances? What does it bring you?

6. Beyond the Labyrinth licence, the Bowie estate has side stepped all of this type of commercialism.

7. Why do people feel they need shit like this?

8. This is America.

4. Prince fans should know better? Why? Because you don't like it? Because Prince wouldn't approve? How many bootlegs do you have?

5. I like having pop figures for musicians, entertainers and characters I like. Why does it matter to you?

6. Bowie pops are coming later this year.

7. Because people can spend their money however they want.

Apologies if my post sounded a little harsh.

Of course, it simply an opinion.

Personally, I hate all the 'tacky' merchandise. From key rings to leggings, ping pong balls to pop heads. Prince isn't gaining from their sales. To me, it's simple fan exploitation and a problem with society (usually USA led), that 'you must collect to be a fan' culture.

I used to have EVERYTHING. I mean, a collection that bordered on a museum. From gold and platinum discs, to the rarest vinyl, through to Prince's clothes. But it was Prince that made me realise its all superficial.

So I sold most of it. I keep the personal pieces, either from Prince directly, or certain sentimental works that act as memory markers, but for the bulk, I 'letitgo'. I realised I was stroking a collection for no more that my own ego or to 'show' how big a fan I was.

My 'fandom' is now all my memories, and my music and visual collection.

When I sold my 'Strange Tales' vinyl, I spend the money on a trip to Venice. When I sold the 'Kiss' jacket from Parade, I paid for a trip to MPLS. I swapped the material objects for lifelong memories.

I have 12 year old boys, and they love superheroes. If they spend £12 in the SciFi shop, I ask them, do you want to spend it on a wonderful Batman book/story, or do you want to spend it on a funko pop Batman (that cost 20p to make in a China sweat shop) that does nothing but sit there?

One gives them a batman experience, one sits of a shelf and says 'look what I have, I must be a fan'.

Like I said. Prince taught me something, even if it took 30 years to sink in.

I totally get why people 'collect'; it's almost an instinct, and of course, if it makes someone happy, go for it, but I question what someone get out of buying stuff like this. Prince didn't agree with bootlegs, but he also admitted he would collect James Brown tracks in the same manner. I never heard him say he wanted James dolls, ping pongs and leggings. Two very different things.

All that glitters ain't gold.

As much as fans have claimed they hate these, SOMEONE wants them: they're the top 3 selling action figures on Amazon. As you would expect, PR is #1, ATWIAD is #2, and 3rd Eye is #3. And that's why the estate signs off on things like this. They can't sustain everything just by selling vault tracks to the 30,000 hardcore fans who want it. Prince is a money-making pop culture brand now. It's like it's permanently 1984. We just have to accept that so we can get the vault tracks down the road.

I'm more excited about getting one of these than I am about the Piano and Mic album, and I'm not that excited about getting one of these.

I would prefer to see something like a Nendoroid of Prince if they are taking the super deformed route. Pops are too repetitive and no thought or effort is put into the sculpting process other than the hair and clothes to make it resemble the person it's meant to be. Nendoroids are way better imo.
