I'm interested in what you carry with you thanks to Prince?

I think mine is "love is the only way"

many things, many, many, many things. all from afar. believe in yourself, work hard, be an asshole, don't be an asshole, work on things you're not good at until you are good, on and on and on. also, although i never fucked with drugs, he made me even more strict than i already was, unless there is a real real, real good reason, i'm not messing with any drugs. which I barely did to begin with, only headache pills, which i threw away, i'll learn to suffer.

He was a patron of outcasts and misfits everywhere, and showed them not to fear their "otherness" (real or perceived), but to embrace it.

He showed me that it's okay to be a misfit, I know I'll always be one but I'm not sad about it anymore. He taught me that it is okay and cool to be different. I don't strive to be the person people refere to as "normal". I don't want to hide the real me anymore.

don't worry about it, I say "who the fuck wants to be normal, it's so boring".

a big one is to try to block out what people think about your best efforts and work. that's a tough one for me to learn, i spend too much time worrying about other people's opinion of me. i've been driving for uber eats, i have an over 90 percent satisfaction, but as we all know, you cannot please everyone. other day, i get an order in busy downtown, i go, no parking, i pick up the food, skipping past other customers who think i'm cutting them to pick up the order, i go four or five blocks, the lady tells me to meet her on the southwest corner of a certain block, well, southwest to me meant the one diagonally across, either way, she starts calling me and sounding irate, i hang up on the bitch, i find her she starts to argue, i walk off. shit bothers me, how prince dealt with all his "fans" here picking over his every move is one way i try to manage that petty assed shit.

Yes, I think that Prince powerfully reinforced this idea for me early in his career. It wasn't a slogan, but it was the choices he made

This may sound a little rude, but in answer to your question, at quite a young age Prince taught me,

''A blow job doesn't mean blow''.

To have serious boundaries, which means sometimes you’re going to go overboard with them. In this way to protect yourself and can live your best life.

The positive - Do not discriminate, believe in yourself and not to shy away from being honest. Also, just to funk out.

The Negative - If you become obssessed with a make believe sky fairy, it will imprison and consume you, blinker your outlook and in some cases, lead to personal conflict so extreme, you will negatively affect the life of you or others around you, in the name of make believe.
