Here is an article published by the Star Tribune entitled "There are good things in Prince's musical vault, says former engineer who has heard songs":

She said she cried. From what I can gather..she is not as aware of what bootlegs are out there as we assumed. In her previous interview with CJ, she stated that maybe a lot of P's songs are already bootlegged. Ironically, in the second interview, she almost seemed to contradict herself. I theorize that since she just heard the Piano andMIc CD, she realized there was more than she thought.

^^ I do own the Purple Rush vol 2 (4 cd set)

and to be honest the upcoming album Piano 83 is kind of rubbish,

(Listening very few times, the skipped it, to me, "ok" at best)...

However I do trust the rumours - I no there are many "pearls", live and studio in those old vaults.

Why they choose to release such a bad recording from 83 is beyond me, the hardcore fans own this and the mainstream will ignorre this "unimportant" release....

Sorry to sound harsh, I dislike when others are harsh, but I was listening (and skipped) the 83 recording recently.....

Bad judgement to release this, imho... don't hate og flame me... just my opinion...

The great news to me is that SONY has signed to re-release 35 original Prince albums, with outtakes and unheard songs...

THAT is a real scoop imho...... heart nod woot!

She heard a differnt Wally to the one we have, so who knows how different they are. But generally speaking I do agree with you about Susan's tastes.

Was this comfirmed?

I heard they were just re-releases, so no remasters or extra stuff added.

We already know that from what is already circulating from Susan's time period, much of it in good quality.

I'm just glad 'Adonis & Bathsheba' is already out there, otherwise we may never have heard it if relying on Susan's judgement.

There have been no statements regarding any outtakes or unreleased material at all, and zero evidence this deal covers any unreleased material.

I've also seen that reported in the new Rolling Stone article today, which makes for a much more exciting prospect.

Hopefully these will be unheard non-album tracks.

So this was one of 8000 TDK cassettes? Am I right to assume that these cassettes contain mostly material that is mostly unheard of. If so, how weird to release the one tape we already know.

This so-so rehearsal made her cry, or something else did? Was it the poor quality of the cassette? I'm confused. Because if this is the item that made her cry, and Adonis & Bathsheeba was so "bad" that it sent her into a giggle fit, then we have entirely different tastes in Prince music.

I'm guessing the 8000 TDK cassettes would be mostly rehearsal type stuff, since they were recorded onto a cassette, and not multitracks?

What I want is the 1000 (so far) completely unheard songs mentioned in that other article. Quarterly box-sets will do, thanks.

There really needs to be some fan input or representation on what is released.

'Adonis and Bathsheba' is among my favourite Prince songs, so to suggest I differ in taste to Susan would be an understatement.

Basically, laziness as I've read and interpreted it. They knew it already existed and went and found it without bothering to listen if there was any superior material, even of this variety.

Jeez guys, she doesn't like one song. I'm sure there's a song she likes that you don't. She's on record more than once saying that that is the ONLY song she ever worked on with him that she ever disliked. Hey I think its a great song myself but I'm open enough to think about why she doesn't like it, its fairly ludicrously over the top, gloriously so in fact.

We're all a bit fatigued with interviews with her for sure but most people not on here never come across more than one.
