Prince had a very special relationship with the Netherlands. He did many small and unusual shows there. He worked with Candy Dulfer and other Dutch musicians.

When he wanted to do a video/tv recording of the Lovesexy show and couldn't get a stadium in the Netherlands, he went to Dusseldorf just across the German border and then sold the tickets in the Netherlands to get a Dutch audience.

Apparently the Netherlands reminded him of Minneapolis, culturally - like Canada/Ontario.

Netherlands reminding Prince of Minneapolis, MN? Could the Dutch canals have reminded him of the rapids and the locks on the Mississippi River? Maybe some geographical reminiscence was at play with all of the water around, as Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes and you can see them as you flyover--but, cuturally, well, I dunno about that!

Dortmund, not Düsseldorf. And Dortmund is 100 kilometres away from the dutch border.

Keep in mind that tours are determined by market share.
So "favourite" doesn't necessarily means "profitable".
I highly doubt Prince's tours, at least for a large part of his career,
were organised according to his personal preferences.

I do know that Prince was here in The Netherlands a lot (off tours) visiting.

We have no idea what his favorite country to play in was, unless he said something to that effect.

"Statistics" only tell us where he might have felt he could earn the greatest return on his touring investment.

I've been to McDonald's more often than I've been to Michelin-starred restaurants, doesn't mean that I prefer it.
