There's over 3000 vinyl LPs right here beside me, and currently over 11,000 albums in my iTunes/Vox accounts, and you want me to pick 10?

paraded

If I'm really hard on my imaginary list, only Sign O The Times would be in there. But it'd be in the top three.

Only the younger fans have the post-2000 albums in their all-time top ten. And by younger, I mean anyone not around or was a fan of Prince between 1978-1984.

*Purple Rain for sure. It should be on every top albums list. 1999, The Gold Experience, Art Official Age are my other faves. *Bridge Over Troubled Waters *Marshall Mathers *Electric Ladyland *Cosmos Factory *21 *Time Out Of Mind *Abbey Road *It's Pronounced *Good Kid, M.A.D.D. City [Edited 6/28/18 11:35am]

Note that it's "Trouble Water", not "Trouble Waters". (This is important, yes.)

As to Prince in my top-10, certainly Purple Rain and Sign O' the Times are vying for spots in there. I go back and forth on which is the better record, but I have a feeling Purple Rain wins out in the end, so I'll say it's definitely in the top-10 and Sign is maybe in there.

My 10 favourite albums of all time

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles

Purple Rain - Prince

Abbey Road - The Beatles

Thriller - Micheal Jackson

Rumours - Fleetwood Mac

Breakfast In America - Supertramp

U2 - The Joshua Tree

Band On The Run - Paul Mccartney & Wings

Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys

Born In The USA - Bruce Springsteen

If I did a Top 30 there would likely be 5 or 6 Prince albums in there.

Looks like you need a little underground education.
Your list is oh so mainstream. There's more to pop than ear-candy.

This is a fun question. My all-time favorite album is "Loveless" by My Bloody Valentine. So there's one out of ten.

.

Then, in the following nine albums, I guess I'd have to put "Queen II" by Queen (duh), "Girlfriend" by Matthew Sweet, "Spilt Milk" by Jellyfish, "Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness" by Smashing Pumpkins...

.

And yes, I would put a Prince album in the mix: "Sign 'O' The Times". That's his pinnacle, to my ears. It's an audacious, sprawling musical journey. I listen to it all the way through multiple times a year.

You are my new best friend for mentioning Girlfriend and Spilt Milk. I checked my google music plays total recentally and these 2 are far ahead of anything else. SOtT was up there too!
