To be fair to WB, they can't win.

.

Sure, but there is not a big slice of the people here saying that this upcoming Piano release is the best thing since sliced bread either.

This is the problem. Even most of the people that LOVE that piano set and want this best quality version would prefer it not be the first vault release. Doesn't mean nobody likes it or wants it, just means there's many, many better choices.

I'm just going to keep listening to whatever is released and hope that they aren't going to dredge the vault dry. Less is more sometimes! If I get to the point where I feel like they're just bombarding us with new findings it might make me switch off!

lol So far, it looks like you won't have to worry about that. At the pace they're going they won't "dredge the vault dry" for at least a couple hundred years.

Bob Lefsetz got a glimpse at some of the contents of Prince's vault: http://lefsetz.com/wordpr...ces-vault/ .

What information? It's nicely written, but it tells us absolutely nothing.

.

It tells us that they apparently have a lot of digitized material already, including video, and that they're showing it off to business insiders.

Warner, while obliging and enthusiastic, seem oblivious to the knowledge of the hard core Prince community amongst who'se leaders could advise on very commerical Prince catalogue packages for the fans.

[Edited 6/16/18 3:31am]

Who decides who the leaders of the hard core community are? Why will they know what I want?

Prince was so diverse that somebody will complain no matter what is released.

For example, even though I would buy it, I couldn't care less if "soundboards" were officially released but other Prince collectors would go crazy for it. I want studio outtakes in quality condition. Somebody else may not. I thought "Moonbeam levels" and the outtakes disc on the "Purple Rain deluxe edition" were great starts, even the "Nothing compares 2 u" single was exciting to me. I am happy we are getting anything right now and look forward to hearing this official release, even though I've had the bootleg for 30+ years.

I guess I should now go and read the original article posted lol

Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

While I appreciate the author's passion, the article, itself, seems more like a glittering generality than actual journalism. Maybe he can't provide specifics, but I would have appreciated more details about what he heard and saw rather than his gushing over what he heard and saw. Again, maybe he's limited in what he can say. And, while most of us know what's in there, even have much of what's in there, it still would be nice to know just what WB is showing folks, which could give us some idea of what they are planning to release or hold as a priority to release.

This person just seems like they are boasting about it, lording it over everyone else instead of actually sharing ANY information.

I'm just saying...
