The fuck...ONE release per year?!! eek confused Are they nuts? Tyka won't be around to enjoy any profits and a lt of us won't be around to enjoy the music. Glad for my bootleg collection! razz

One release per year is completely ridiculous.Unless they do it like Bob Dylan who released "the complete studio recordings 1965 - 66", "the complete basement tapes", "the complete live recordings 1966 (36 discs!)" etc. But one release such as 1983 Piano & A Microphone is a complete waste of opportunity.

I don't think the article states there's a limit of one release a year. And a 'collection' could be a 12 CD set. I think you're all reading too much into this.

C'mon, Prince estate! Can't you do as well as Tom Petty's people?! They just announced a box set will be sold in September with 60 NEVER BEFORE RELEASED songs!

Point taken, though that Petty box will actually include some album cuts, live versions of songs that are already available in live versions, and only a handful of never-heard songs. Petty fans have some complaints, as we would.

Its not up to his family right now as to what happens to the Estate.

And if you read the article the original idea for a hotel was from Prince.

Okay maybe I overlooked that it was Prince's idea, but the hotel could wait, unless they overthink the stupid idea of one release a year, then I really don't give a damn. I know that right now it's not up to his family, but to me it seems like they don't care enough about it anyway. It's been two years now and they still can't get their hands on it. Sorry, but to me it seems like they don't care enough about his music. neutral

“Everyone is going to hear this music,” says Tyka Nelson. “Even if it’s not up to par.

^No keeping all that stuff doesn't mean he wanted it all out! The last thing I want to see is a CD like "Michael" just a bunch of mediocre or bad songs (some didn't even have Michael's vocals) slapped together for a few bucks.

So Tyka said he told an assistant about the idea of a hotel. Well, maybe there's an interview with that assistant I've missed, but if there isn't I'll be careful about Tyka's statement. She doesn't seem like a honest person to me.

What is the problem with another hotel in Chanhassen? Prince fams on the Fan Gatherings forum say they need more lodging all the time. That's where I'd stay on a trip to Paisley, why not? Is this a boycott Paisley Park because of our grudges thing?

It has nothing to do with how one feels about Tyka or anyone he knew, not that I give a rat's ass personally.

Well, I don't mind the hotel if they overthink the one release per year thing. I personally don't boycott Paisley Park but I think they could handle some things better especially the issue with the music. I also think most fans care more about the music right now than the hotel, I say, the hotel can wait a bit longer (not that it shouldn't happen). Although I believe they have better chances to get the hotel done in time than the issue with the music. rolleyes

Good point tho, but it's still frustrating I'm just tired of waiting and then we get news like this, we are waiting for two years now so it's kinda understandable that some are mad at the estate. Even if the hotel is a good idea for fans who want to visit Paisley Park.

Yes, you follow it and know more than I do. But, 2 years is pretty normal for an estate for a nobody over here. Maybe because the museum happened so fast too. It seemed like there would be momentum but...

well you could also think about it in the way that, the more money they piss away on
stupid projects that have nothing to do with music, the more likely it is that in future
all they will be left with is a vault of music that they have to monetize with a quickness
if they want to garner some more income. so it's a waiting game from here on out.

SNJ filed Objections to the attorney fee requests for the attorneys of the other three siblings.

This Objection was filed as "Pro Se" meaning SNJ are without counsel.

Also, just as a side note, Lonnie filed an Appearance of Counsel representing himself in the litigation that is about to happen between NorthStar Business Enterprises and The Estate.

Lawnie was only their advisor, not their lawyer. He is probably still "advising" them lol.

He's going to court for what he did when he worked with Bremer Trust.

How long has Graceland lasted? I drive by PP nearly every day and on the days they do tours the parking lot is usually full.

Troy Carter exits Spotify

Any chance this changes things? Probably not but curious to see what others think.

I doubt it will change things. He is staying on as an advisor to Spotify which is similar to the position he has with the Estate.
