Good to hear.

It just means the case was settled and the the claims dismissed.

However, dismissed "with prejudice" means the Estate cannot file a claim against Tidal again based on the same facts as originally filed.

If the case was dismissed "without prejudice" it would mean they could file the same lawsuit against Tidal.

The Estate Judge will not rescind the Tidal settlement agreement based upon the request of the SNJ Snivelers.

As always, thank you for putting this in layman's terms. It is good that this is behind them.

Is the heir's lawsuit against Moline and Walgreens separate from the Estate?

Since Tidal was settled, I am sure the terms will be undisclosed.

Uncomplicated estates with less assets than Prince take up to 24 months to finalize. So it will be awhile before Prince's estate is closed.

Hot Mess...

And the mess part it doesn't have to be that way if the siblings would work together and the estate stops wasting money on bullshit fees and stuff. Prince's estate has the potential to be very profitable too as years go by. Damn the siblings has it good and also good treasures in their hands-getting access to something they didn't work for and now they have the potential to blow it.

Has the Galpin land been sold? There’s a proposed development sign up now. According to the city website Lennar Homes is proposing a 200 unit single home development.

Does anyone know why the Estate didn't include the extended versions of Beautiful Ones, Darling Nikki, 17 Days, I Would Die 4 U on the Purple Rain Deluxe album?

Do you think they'll try to milk the album again by including those at some point?

.
The Estate wasn't involved in producing Purple Rain Deluxe apart from giving Warners the green light. Warners obviously wanted to keep costs down, keeping it a cheap, 4-disc digipak – also, they sourced the outtakes from compact cassette copies (they didn't have access to the contents of Paisley's vault yet), and possibly they don't even have all those tracks you mentioned.
.

Friends don't let friends clap on 1 and 3.

Thanks, Kares, for your educated or insider opinion.

They probably would have those tracks, now, since the vault has been digitized at Iron Mountain.

Hopefully, if someone from the Estate is reading this, they can sort through the records and let us buy them, at some point. Purple Rain, extended versions of tracks, that is...Prince Estate!

You're welcome, but I'm not an insider.
.

As for "the vault has been digitised" comment: in my opinion it would take at least several years to transfer ALL of the tapes to hard drives, depending on how many people are working on it and how many properly maintained tape machines Iron Mountain can allocate to the Prince project.
.
I've no idea if the Estate and Warners have either the intention or the funds to transfer every single tape they find at all, including all of the multitracks, the different mixdown versions, the cassette demos, the rehearsal and concert tapes, all the videos and films. It would be a monumental task and incredibly expensive, so I'm afraid they will see it as cost-prohibitive.
.
By the way, most audio tapes are analog of course, but there are lots of digital (DASH) tapes as well and those will have to be transferred to hard disk based systems too.
And then there are tons and tons of videotapes on various formats (BetaCam, DigiBeta, D1, D2 etc..) and lots of film reels too. Even transferring only the video vault would take at least a year, IMO.
.

I thought I read that Iron Mountain was only going to digitize on an "as needed" basis?

That's my biggest fear, to be honest... sad But yeah, I wasn't really expecting anything else, even though I would happily live in that archive for 3 years to get it all done, to save everything and I find it sad that preservation isn't their priority.

From KSTP News

In regards to the Galpin property being developed. Prince heirs have asked the city to not allow any Prince trademarks in the development.

Which means no street names, nothing. sad

This pisses me off, his family won't even let them honor him on the property he owned and paid taxes on for years.

All the heirs want is money, money, money.
