yep. can't tell you how many times my former employers used to bill their clients more than the clients were ultimately awarded in damages or in settlement. meaning, client would have been far better off to NOT litigate/contest the will etc. most opposing attorneys can't agree on anything except the need for yet another Amended Scheduling Order from the court and another year to bill the hell out of their clients while allegedly resolving a dispute.

This really is all a mess... The only official music music release we had so far since his death was the John Nelson cd... Really sad for Prince fans, I'm sure we all feel "entilted" to a new album every year just being used to Prince's output.. sad

May I ask a question please?
I have read thru the last estate thread and today’s article.

I seems a CURRENT value of the estate needs to be agreed upon before the siblings and IRS/MN taxes can get paid out.

Can we assume the vault being transferred to LA and secured/kept under ideal conditions (as opposed to how they were stored at Paisley Park) helps solidify a future value, and it’s been looked at by ‘experts’ to assess possible damage/ able to fix.

So what is left, the royalties, correct? Monies coming in from sales of Prince product.
But, to whom and to where are those current sales going?

So far concluded that this is a total clusterfuck of the highest order. Chaos & Disorder reigns on after death as it did in life. Very little hope of vault music being released anytime soon..this year? = zero chance , next year - highly doubt it.

Also read today that the P. Rain Deluxe edition sold poorly...the jewel in the WB crown...there is little incentive for any investor to really push the vault I suspect.

Where does this leave the legacy? & the Estate?...I suspect [demonic] hologram tour to generate $ is just around the corner.

4Ever and Purple Rain Deluxe have been released. Certainly, these two releases have contained less new music than fans would like, but these were both official releases.

XxAxX, great points. One would think that SNJ would be aware of this phenomenon, as they are the three siblings who seem to be preventing the Estate from moving forward. I've stopped checking in on the Estate filings regularly because it seems like it's the same vicious cycle of disagreement leading to more money going to attorneys.

Do you have a source regarding Purple Rain Deluxe?

Those two configurations were already in the 2014 WB contract before his death. So no these do not count as any new releases of music since his death.

The only official new release by the estate from his death was the John Nelson cd which nobody cares about.

So like I stated above... There has been no new releases by the estate since his death, 2 years later... Real sad for the fans.

They were part of Prince's pre-existing deal with Warner Bros though and are not new Estate releases.

Whether we will see any further WB releases remains to be seen. They certainly weren't interested in properly promoting the special edition 'Purple Rain'.

Exactly, like I said, the only new music release by the estate was the John Nelson cd which nobody wanted...

Real sad how messed up the estate is, when you see how much was released by the Bowie estate 2 years since his death... Instead we get another greatest hits configuration and a half assed deluxe edition from one of the most important albums in music history missing more than half of what should've been on a proper deluxe edition.

It's an apples-to-oranges comparison though because David Bowie (a) had a wife of 23+ years, Iman (the former supermodel and businesswoman), (b) 2 living children, and (c) a will when he died, while Prince had none of these situations (Source: https://www.cnn.com/2016/...dex.html). Bowie left 50% of his assets to Iman; 25% to he and Iman's daughter, Lexi (that she can access when she turns 25); and 25% to his son Duncan, whom he had with his first wife. He also left about $2 million for his longtime personal assistant, Corinne "Coco" Schwab.

... Oh and as I was typing that, the Bowie estate just announced another new release just now...

Beside Bowie: The Mick Ronson Story soundtrack CD, double vinyl album and DVD/Blu-ray are set for simultaneous release through Universal Music on 8 June 2018. Go here for the tracklist and a Spotify playlist for those that can’t wait till the June release:

This article is misleading.

I have not found any filings by Omarr, Tyka and Alfred that say they are opposed to this deal.

Do you have a link? I may have missed it.

It is heartbreaking how much of his hard earned money is basically just going out the window. It's not going towards ensuring his legacy, or solidifying his estate for the long term. That may be the ultimate goal, but there won't be anything left when, or if, its all settled. I live in MN and its just left such a bad taste in my mouth. I was very enthusiastic in the beginning - attending the big Tribute concert, touring PP, and attending many other related celebrations and events after his passing. Now I have very little motivation towards anything Prince-related knowing what a circus it's all become, and with no end in sight. It all just makes me too sad. He worked so hard, he gave so much. He should have taken steps to avoid what's happening. If only...

There is a huge business transaction which has been pending because SNJ oppose the deal.

There is a hearing Thursday on the opposition.

Affidavits were filed by Troy Carter, Entertainment Advisor to the Estate; Jason Boyarski, Entertainment Attorney specializing in distribution and sale of master recordings; and David Dunn, Managing Partner of Shot Tower Capital, an investment banking firm.

This is why we are not getting new music. SNJ attempts to block every entertainment deal.

I think the fact that Prince did not have a Will, just speaks in volumes about how he felt about his half-siblings. cool

True if he had a will and they got nothing or chicken feed, I believe some nasty books would come out by everyone excluded, ex- lovers/wife’s especially.

Prince could have made this real simple with a Will, 50% or 75% of his assests to Tyka, the remainder divided equally between the half siblings or give it to charity or whomever!
