This is such an awesome unique way to celebrate Prince's 60th birthday!!!

There should be a massive amount of noise surounding Prince's 60th but I've not heard anything.

Warners and the Estate should be marking this significant milestone. I'm sure the fans would want a decent official commemorative book and of course music!

haha close but no Tootsie pop or a cane.

I've tried all their pints. They finally came to upstate a few weeks ago. The Birf'day Cak is good, and I love the Salty Pimp. Rocky Roadhouse is pretty great.

Back in their food truck days, they used to make this thing called a Choinkwich. It was two chocolate flatbread cookies, with ice cream in the middle and a round piece of bacon (similar to Canadian bacon). Cho=chocolate, oink=bacon, wich-sandwich. It was too labor intensive to make all the time, so they eventually stopped, and didn't carry it over to the brick and mortar stores. The Bea Arthur was an early favorite, as was the Salty Pimp. Doug has been on Rachael Ray with different concoctions, and Doug and Brian both have been on Best Things I Ever Ate on Food Network. Doug once judged on another Food Network program. I forget which one, but it was something similar to Chopped.

That's really cool. Here it's all about Snowballs, but I like ice cream mo betta. Fun thread, Prince's sweet tooth would approve. nod

It’s been that day.

heart this from their Instagram. Sounds like something Anthony Bourdain would say while enjoying some marvelous ice cream.

This is totally in poor taste considering Prince's views/beliefs, but you all seem to be having fun with it.

.

I guess one of the fun things about a legacy act is that anything can happen, this shit would never have happened a few years ago or maybe it would've been another funny article about a lawsuit.

.

Does the estate pick/approve this kind of stuff?

.

Anyhoo, I'll suggest "Champagne and Chocolate" in honor of 3121.

Clam down, Edith. I know these guys personally. The purple-tinted judgment is what's offensive here. There is nothing bad taste about them. I've known Doug almost twenty years, well before BGIC came around, or before he knew Bryan (the bigger Prince fan of the two). I don't know what the barking is about "considering Prince's views/beliefs". Did he not like desserts? Cuz there was ice cream in the freezer at Paisley Park - lots of it. And it wasn't vegan either. Pints and pints of Häagen-Dazs up in there. Or do you mean something about the LGBTQ community, which was arguably at least 1/3 of his fanbase - a man who blurred lines of gender and sexuality throughout this career to the end. Is it that to which you refer in his "beliefs"? Prince's beliefs changed as often as he changed his Calvin's, let's be honest.

The estate has no say so if someone celebrates Prince's fucking birthday. Christ - no one can't own people's feelings or celebrations of his music. Did anyone go after Spike Lee whipping out the gold symbol guitar because it violated copyright? No, and you know why? Because it would have been stupid. Did "the estate" try to quiet The Revolution's tour, The Time's huge tribute to Prince at the beginning of their shows, or fDeluxe playing The Family music in shows? Nope! If Doug & Bryan want to make an ice cream cone with maple syrup, jam, coffee and/or tangerine - Prince doesn't own that. Prince didn't have a patent, trademark, service mark, copyright, or otherwise on food combinations. He didn't put out a recipe book.

These guys are celebrating one of the greatest musicians that have ever walked the planet. And we're hearing worries over if "the estate" (which is now sounding like another term for Big Brother in an Orwell novel) approved it or not?

But everyone remember all those future estate/copyright/approval bullshit threads and pseudo-solidarity posts when you're at home playing "Raspberry Beret" on the piano, or raving about some bass player trying to play "777-9311", or some blond chick doing her take on "Condition of the Heart", mmkay? This is ice cream, and y'all ain't too far gone to see that yet.

Haha I could give a shit about ice cream politics, just sayin' this is one of those postmortem new freedoms we should get used to. Looking forward to the commemorative birthday Camel cigarettes. Also, ya know, his silhouette on the rainbow pride business logo isn't a good combination but maybe that was just org creative license.
