The Future of the Music

First of all, this is my first post in over two years. I could not bring myself to come here anymore. My last post was probably a plea to get tickets to the Atlanta shows, and I cannot possibly express my sadness with what happened. I miss everyone here so much, and hope I can contribute here again. I am so saddened with what has gone down with the unreleased music. I am frightend that Jay Z will alter tracks, bring in studio musicians, or worse. I don't plan on taking any sides with anyone. I just want the music to get love. Sadly, in my humble professional opinion, there is only a tiny amount of money available for a lot of lawyers, industry types, and the estate to fight over, with Prince's music the big loser. Should I find the strength, I would give the next five years of my life to help in the process, should anyone think I'm qualified. I doubt I would be given the chance, but perhaps my biggest wish in life is to have some sort of connection to saving the music from the sad treatment the first MJ album had. I probably have a better chance of getting struck by lightning 17 times on the way to cash in two winning powerball tickets, but I would quit my job, and move to wherever the job of sorting through the vault is. But, probably a pipe dream. Being a Prince fan is what defines me. Not the gossip, not the clothes he wore, but simply the music. The music I was mostly overly positive about, despite my true, blunt criticism of some of his live performances, I truly loved him. He was nice enough to talk to me a few times, and as a ridiculously overly straight guy, he is the only man I ever told "I Love You," to in person. I miss him immensely, and may be forever heartbroken. Perhaps I will listen to "Comeback," and some solace shall be found there. But protecting his legacy and promoting him, I will never stop doing.

I can totally relate to the vibe of your post. I'm sorry you feel so bad, I actually am just starting to feel the loss....when it first happened...i was so in shock I didn't know what to feel so I felt numb ...but the loss and pain has really crept up on me and it hurts my heart and soul....you aren't the only one . I know exactly how you are feeling.
I hope the music will be protected and distributed with integrity.

Beautiful words, welcome back. P left us with so much music, I too hope it isn't tarnished.

I worry too, but I try not to worry too much because it took a long time for him to make all that music and it just might take a little while to reveal it to all to the unknowing masses. I am not going to assume that Jay-Z is going to tamper with it...after all, he knows how tough Prince fans can be and it really doesn't need tampering...it needs promotion. And remember the cream always rises to the top as long as someone is around to discover it and reveal it to all.

Welcome back. I remember u. U posted often & ur posts were always informative.
We are all healing the best way we know. I’ve reconnected with or made new purple friends since his passing. Some others have dropped away. Such is life.
Going to the two Celebrations has definitely helped me alongside all the other events in Minneapolis.
It would take an idiot to fuck up the next few Prince releases at least. Morris Hayes said recently that there are 12 albums recorded between 2010 & 2014 alone. Full albums ready to go. How can they mess that up?
How can they mess up releasing the P&M Atlanta show (P’s wish). They could also add the P&M Gala event on dvd as a double disc.
I’ve seen that full show now & it is astounding how passionate & impressive his vocal range was. It needs to be released.
I’d love an extended Camille or Black Album release. Package them together.
The list is endless. I read somewhere recently that Susan Rogers was also asked by the Estate to advise. That alone gives me hope. Keep the faith...💜
