Help identifying a tune

I've been revisiting some of the O2 aftershows... there is a superb segment on the opening night, first track on the release by a well-known boot label. It's identified as "Can I Kick It (jam)".

At 12:30 a melodic phrase comes in... the melody and the vibe are incredible. It is clealy a composition, not an improv, as the horns play it in unison... They improvise in middle, but then go back to the melody in unison at 16:08...

The liner notes/online database mention the full jam as being made up of Can I Kick It (A Tribe Called Quest), I Like Funky Music (NPG) and Tutu (Miles Davis), but this segment is not originally a part of any of these tracks.

So... any ideas what track is it / who wrote it / where (if) can we find the original? I'd love to listen to it if such a thing exists, the melody is something else.

Much appreciated!

You seem to have stumped the panel (not me, strictly amateur) - $$$.

Well, I can't blame the org community for not providing a ready answer, it is a hard one... In these kinds of situations I usually do my own homework, but in this case so far I found nothing.
