Interesting! I have the first two and have never heard of the version with the fades. Is that the DJ promo copy then Trivial Pursuit? I'd waver a guess it's this one on Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/P...se/8557592

Yes, never heard of this either!

Yes, in fact that's the same one I have in my Discogs collection. I have entered most every CD & LP I have in Discogs to keep track of stuff and do quick searches in the store so I don't double buy something. But yes, that's the exact one I have.

It's been mentioned on here before. In fact, I believe it was an Orger who told me that copy was made for radio stations, ergo the fades. I bought it originally thinking it was the German track version but quickly realized it was different and went to digging for the truth. It was pressed by a different company, one which may have done just this sort of thing for specific distribution to radio stations. (I didn't look them up yet, so that's just a guess.)

The songs are edited in their length, just faded at the end of each track.

doh! Really?!? I'm surprised, Astasheiks. I might expect a newbie wouldn't know about this, but you've been on the org since '02. Guessing you had this on vinyl or cassette but never had the CD?

From princevault.com:

"As an artistic statement, the initial CD release of the album was not split into tracks, but was instead tracked as one single 45:07 track, designed to be listened to as a whole (track titles were included, however). Later releases of the CD split the album into the nine named tracks, however."

For years, I was after a promo CD that I heard was tracked. I still haven't seen a tracked version for sale anywhere but have heard about re-issues being tracked. Anybody know how to identify a tracked version without popping it in a player?

https://www.discogs.com/P...ster/22006

Interestingly, 15-20 years ago, when CD burners were new, I used SoundForge to split disc up into individual tracks. I didn't use any reference to a tracked version when choosing where to split tracks, but, my finished result was recognized by the online database as the tracked version of Lovesexy, so, I must have done a good job. After that, my desire to seek out a tracked copy waned. I just got a 2CD jewel box to put the original CD, artwork and my CDR in and forgot about it.

haha, Never bought the CD or Vinyl. I'm sure I bought the cassette. I think I will hunt for it. lol

Cool! Learn something new every day. So if the tracks are the same length I'm assuming they're early fades then, as opposed to something like Joy in Repetition on the cassette GB. Thanks for clarifying Trivial!

If you had the ability to do that, couldn't you have just ripped the audio from the CD and tracked that?

I didn't have the CD. That was my point. I couldn't find a tracked CD, so I ripped the vinyl.

Ah, makes sense. I read into it that you had an untracked CD, my bad smile .

I HAD bought an untracked CD at one point, but I thought there was something wrong with it (this was pre-internet, so I had no idea the non-tracking was intentional) so I returned it to Best Buy. lol

I thought it was well-publicized at the time of release that the CD consisted of one long track, but I guess you had to be reading the right publications. The only real issue I had was that I thought the strings at the end of "Glam Slam" were instead the beginning of "Anna Stesia."

Count me as another one who tracked his own version later on and kept it with his single-track version.

It's just the DJ promo pressing for radiostations done by "Discovery Systems"; that was the company that did all WBR DJ promo pressings...
Initially this version came with the Blue/Pink radio press pack and was later sent to several radio stations on demand...
The non-fade tracked version came with the Black/White German press pack...
Later most of these copies were sold by the DJ's/stations to collectors, as usual with these pressings...
