Prince said a lot of things of this nature during those last few days & I have my own conclusions from it all.

If they based the investigation off of things he said & wrote alone, then i'm sure the authorities & a lot of people here would have a completely different conclusion of what happened 2 him.

Even the last few years seemed 2 b leading up 2 something...

1nce the emotions of it all r set aside...I think it's pretty obvious what was going on.

He probably meant that he felt obligatated to do that show, but didn't feel up to it. So he had to climb the mountain and get it done and then he could rest and recuperate for awhile. That's how I took it.

Prince sung that he'd been to the mountain top when he recorded Don't Play Me in 1996. What can we read into that? He didn't die in 1996. Was that was the start of a 20 year count down?

RIP sad

OK....the Mountaintop statement.....plus other cryptic statements were signs.....his frame of mind....it's what you call red flags. I don't know what his demeanor was when he recorded the song in 1996 but his demeanor on the plane was that of someone discouraged and depressed.

safe to say that during his final days he was high, his body barely functioning & his mind/thoughts all over the place. Sad but more thank likely true.

Let's not 4get that 4 the past few years prior 2 his passing:

- Prince made efforts to make right the wrongs w/ Morris Day & the Time,Tyka, Wendy & Lisa etc.

- A normally private/ reclusive artist opened up his home/ studio to the fans, on more than 1 occassion AND was actively turning it into a museum.

- Prince willingly reconnected with Warner Bros. after a NASTY relationship.

(advertisements in Billboard magazine w/ subliminal digs at each other etc.) - he wanted his master recordings even if that meant resigning with them.

- Prince made efforts to give the fans the type of music that they wanted 2 hear of him.

- Prince worked w/ upcoming artist that he normally wouldn't have just 2 put his stamp of approval on them.

- Prince allowed a NON MUSICIAN 2 produce his recordngs

- Prince agreed 2 do an autobiography

A lot of the above was UNHEARD of w/ him at 1 point of his career. Obviously something was going on w/ him personally.

Add the obvious pain he was in w/ his mindstate in his last few days, along w/ the condition PPK was in. On top of him losing Denise Matthews (Vanity), the miscarriages, his parents etc...

Exactly.....he was very reflective. Reaching out to old friends and band members.... The ones that meant the most.

None of this really says anything with an open mind. It does fuel the minds of those who have developed the "he knew his time was coming" narative. I just see it as the next stage of his life though. He has been letting fans into PP for many years, it wasn't anything new. I'm also not sure that giving the fans HNR Phase 1 was giving the fans what they wanted to hear.

Also, Josh is a musician. As to why he decided to have someone produce him that says something different to me. In fact his whole release schedule and his studio output for the 6 or 7 years prior to his death says one of two things to me - 1) He was slowing down and was taking the role of tutor to a younger generation or 2) his addiction was controlling his life and making music was no longer his number 1 priority. From 2010 onwards his studio output was pretty lean. One live studio album with 3EG and another (AOA) produced by someone else. This followed by two "albums" of outtakes and older songs. Not the prolific Prince we had become accustomed to.
