second half of the list is absolutely terrible

Indeed, some of them that I do not agree with like Love Song or Te Amo Corazon.

Actually those are two underrated songs that I was glad got a call out for once. Te Amo Corazon is gorgeous imo.

Eek! They lost me at Madonna...an essential Prince track?! disbelief The list took a turn for the worse at that point...

Te Amo Corazon, Stare, Rock & Roll Love Affair and Someplace Here On Earth besides being some of his newer songs, are also amongst his very best.

I think you have something against more mature sounding tracks.

it says "essential" but the url when u look at it says, "best". huge distinction there. its not a deep track list by far with mostly the "obvious" hits. i was disappointed to see Love Song on there. they just wanted to highlight that he did a song with Skankallonia, (I mean Madonna) as most don't know that. its so not memorable and wasn't a single for a reason. i'd swap Black Muse for Stare, but i'm not too mad at that one and if they wanted to highlight his activism, lots of better tracks than Baltimore. that and and shut this down are just their way of appearing to have examined his catalogue closely until the end. June was a better track from Phase I. te amo was unexpected but is more of a curveball of his versatility than "essential." my two cents from detroit!
