Funny how real life (the immediate everyday existence) pushes out stressors over our inner personal lives (like how much Prince and his music means to all of us). I'm thinking that will cause some (like myself) to turn toward Prince's music as always for the cure that ills ya. At least for the moment...

Have you ever been lied to? Have you ever had a dear friend betray you? Do you know what that kind of emotional pain feels like? Have you ever lost a loved one? Seems as though you don't care that Prince had enablers and he was being used. I guess you don't value those kinds of things? To say that some of us are "patting each other on the bacK" and trying to be hero's.....I just don't get your line of thinking. I find your comments to be insulting and uncalled for.

Clover, you and I rarely (ok....never) agree but with the bolded? Yes. Those of us who choose to view, disect, ponder, etc., the case files are no more, or less, fans of Prince. I know I do it because I am trying to understand how a man with this much talent, drive, success, devotion succumbed to such an insidious disease and why no one could help him find his way back from it.

Me too. Do I even want to read what's in There? Uhhgghh..those photos made me feel sick to my stomach. I feel very agitated and apprehensive. I never thought this would be how it ended for him. He was a beautiful spirit but obviously had demons. It breaks my heart he struggled for so long.

Me too. Why were they even allowed to up or even leaked. I can't get those images out of my head...I wish I hadn't seen them.

Excuse me? My dad is an alcoholic. I know plenty about addiction. The answers people are looking for they’re not going to find because the one person who can provide them is no longer here.

It is normal to be reeling when you find out things about a person that are shocking, that you never imagined.
Part of the process is talking about it. That's what we do here.

It will take forever, past my time. That's likely how long people will be interested in Prince. Hopefully the death details will recede and take their place on the long amazing road he travelled.

I know. They are haunting. It isn't lost on me in the final equation for all of Prince's control over his own image, how fiercely he protected his privacy , because of where he passes away and Minnesota legality on transparency, all of seems to have been in vain when pictures of your corpse can be on full display for anyone to see. But then again maybe not because while he was here, and because if who he was he needed to be protective of his privacy, his heart, his mind...so I don't fault him for any if that but it seems like his intense grip on his privacy was part for protection, part to hide his addiction, part because that was how he psychologically coped with the insane amount of traumas in his life. As disturbing as all of the info being revealed is he's ok now...it can't hurt him now. Nothing evil he did in life can negate the good he brought to the world that he resolves with God we all have a light/dark side and he was no different..i believe he sought redemption in his final years...he was only human though...no judgement.....but yes for me and a lot of fans we are still psychologically processing all of this.

You never really get over a death of a loved one, or a beloved artist. Both of my parents are gone, and I still think about them daily and miss them. It's something you never get over -- you just learn to live with it. prince heart

Thanks for your insight and transparency. Every time I think of him in his later years I feel really sad--and perhaps even sadder now knowing he was in so much pain and so alone. When this moment passes my mind goes straight to when he was on stage sucking a lollie pop while everyone on stage singing "save the world make it a better place" and he's offering his tottie pop to Quincy Jones. Lol. Those are the days I want remember those years I would have say he seemed the happiest. That was Prince.

Awwww....aren't you sweet, Marrk. Thanks for asking. And, because you did.... you know, I think I am beginning to understand how and why this happened. Of course, my understanding is gleaned through my own personal interpretation of information presented in the documents.

Pssst....I also looked at the photos. Yep, I did indeed.

Not suspicious if you consider what it might have been. Prince was a man with a healthy sexual appetite. I doubt it was porn, but it could have been some personal files that he asked Kirk to delete if something ever happened to him. Private pictures of women he was seeing. Private videos. There is a meme out there about what true friends do when you are in a fatal accident -- delete the browser history. Everyone wants to see something suspicious in this, but it could also have been something entirely innocent and protective of Prince and his lady friends.

True , I didn't think about that. But the report did say a model was in his search history. So that wasn't deleted...i was kinda shocked because the girl was quite curvy for a Prince girl! I was kinda surprised there wasn't Porn on his computer considering it is almost EVERY man's computer lol.

From the Prince Vault interviews thread:

On a not-so-serious side, I ask Prince what are his interests besides music? Not a bit hesitantly, he replies, “Women, all kinds.” When prodded, he elaborates, “I like the ones with nice personalities.”

“Do you get out much?”

“No. Not really.”

“What age range of young ladies do you like?”

“It doesn’t matter.”

IKR? Here's another one from that thread.

Prince misses the days "when I could walk the street without being harassed and bothered". He remembers the first time he realised he was famous, around 1979. "It happened very fast. I had some old clothes on because I was going to help a friend move house and some girls came by and one went: 'Ohmigod, Prince!' And the other girl went," he pulls a face, "'That ain't Prince.' I didn't come out of the house raggedy after that."

Yes and he never left the house again without being "Prince". It is so interesting when you hear about pivotal moments in his life that explain who he became. There is so much in his childhood and younger years that explain to me who he became as an adult.

nod Lesson to be learned? Trust no one. Some people here are still determined to drag Prince because that is exactly what they came here to do.

Mumbo Jumbo Mumio. People here are not determined to drag Prince down or anything like it. Prince the musician was without equal. However that is different from Prince the person, who was definitely flawed. And to believe otherwise is delusional. If he wasn't flawed he would still be here. That's the lesson to be learned.

Those who only come on this board to talk about his flaws (never his music, or humor, or charities) , make sweeping generalizations, and never have anything nice to say...those folks I do suspect of wanting to drag him down. WE can't avoid the man's flaws but some folks certainly avoid his strengths. Check their posting history. Prince "Fans" sometimes only like the prince they grew up with and have been disappointed for 30 years that he wasn't entirely who they thought he was and now with the sad stuff coming out (along with statements of love), they chose to believe the negative and ignore the positive becuase I suspect that they still have not forgiven him for being a different PRince than the one they had envisioned in their heads in 1983.

Well count me out of that category. Unlike my other fave artists I think P's late period was brilliant. As for humor, charities etc that's all on record. P's character had many strong points. He was genuine and generous to a fault. He was a brilliant teacher for someone who never adopted the profession.

But there's a reason why there've been 10 to the dozen death investigation threads; because what transpired from autopsy findings and circumstantial evidence is not the Prince that we as fans have recognised all these years. And that's why some people are in denial, and prefer to accept the idea there's no way he could be responsible for what happened - When it's patently obvious he was (pretty much) always the one calling the shots.
