MUSICOLOGY SALES

FYI... It was the #22 best selling album in the world in 2004.

With 2.781.000 Copies sold world wide.

Well, it didn't really "sell" that well. All CDs given away for free at the concerts were counted as "being sold". A little shady, don't you think?

Yes the majority of the chart sucess was due to the fact he gave away the cd and concerts and it was counted as a sale...

But regardless of that there was approx 1.5 million copies sold that were actually sold without the inclusion of the concert "sales".

So to go still go PLATINUM 20 years after your most commercially sucessfull album, is still great.

World wide it sold just under a million.

In the U.S. it was certified 2x Platinum.

Yes in the USA alone the Album sold 1.5 million and did another 2 in ticket sales here too. So like its been said the album actually was selling not just being given away. I mean selling 1.5 no one is doing that now except Taylor Swift and Adele

That's a good seller for Prince relatively speaking, especially in 2004. By comparison, I think Parade only sold 2M in its first year of release.
