Prince Live on the Big Screen concert moved to April 20

Paisley Park just announced the concert has to be moved to April 20 because the Timberwolves need the Target Center on the 21st for the NBA playoffs. Maybe this was something totally unforeseen but it does come across as amature hour. Some of the people involved in this show (like Liv Warfield) have other shows elsewhere on the 20th. So do they have to cancel those shows or will they just not participate? Changing the date a week out sucks for non locals who have to change travel plans. I suppose it’s better than canceling altogether and issuing refunds.

Someone on Twitter claimed tickets weren’t selling well (even 2 for 1’s on Groupon weren’t selling). Almost makes me wish they’d move it to Paisley Park and offer refunds to any ticket holders who couldn’t get in. Playing to an arena that’s pretty empty can’t be any fun. I got tickets but for the cheap seats because I didn’t want to spend a lot. If tickets aren’t selling well perhaps they could offer existing ticket holders better seats or allow them to come closer to the stage once inside?

Wow, that's not good. They will need to keep that in mind if they want to use the arena for future dates because the NBA playoffs generally start around this time.

This doesn't bode well for such shows in the future...

On behalf of the Houston Rockets, I apologize. Both for the inconvenience, and for the ass-whooping we're going to lay on the Timberwolves that night!

It was TOTALLY UNFORSEEN. The Timberwolves haven't made the playoffs since Kevin Garnett left... 14 YEARS AGO. The Target Center wouldn't have known that the Timberwolves would make the playoffs after 14 years NOR that the NBA would schedule a game on that specific date. After all, the Timberwolves just made it into the playoffs yesterday, by winning the VERY LAST GAME OF THE SEASON.

I suppose. I hope it doesn’t impact the quality of the show.

I just feel for the people who made travel plans and will now have to change or scrap those plans altogether...
