I respect the fact that Nile Rodgers doesn't feel right about releasing his song now; maybe on down the line he will feel differently...

"Their friendship began at Prince's first-ever concert in New York City. Rodgers wasn't quite prepared for what he saw. He arrived a little late, just as the band had taken the stage, and he was struck by the sight of a "gorgeous girl" with her back to the stage in an outfit that exposed a set of tight buns. "I'm going, 'Whoa! Look at the girls they have in this band!'" he said in the video above. But then the person turned around to begin the first song, and Rodgers realized that the wonderful ass belonged to Prince."

I saw Nile live with Chic just before Prince at Essence festival, then again in concert just a day or two after Prince's passing. Prince made a surprise appearance with him at Essence playing the solo in Let's Dance. Then I got to hear Nile tell that story -- along with others -- as a tribute to Prince after he passed. Crazy.

.

In other news I had another Prince dream last night. It was really chill, like we were best friends hanging out.

.

Rest in peace.
