The Purple Current Radio Station

Check out this cool radio station playing Prince inspired music and of course original songs by the man himself. So far I have found it a great station. Hope the mods make this a sticky

No need for a sticky.

There is another that is playing Prince 24/7 for the month of April. They also play funky music and have Prince blocks. Last night they interviewed Owen Husney.

Purple Current will be a
permanent feature of Minnesota Public Radio.
Confirmed by Jay Gabler.

Let's give all possible love to his home state so such things keep spreading.

Yay! Its about time...i tune into the Current occasionally just for Prince and have been disappointed his music didn't have more of a presence outside the month he passed, and on the anniversary of his passing. They should do the same for the month of june too.

How much Prince did The Current play before his death? I left the Twin Cities in 2005, and I don’t remember the Current playing much Prince at all.

On their regular feed, about once an hour.
On Purple Current. A solid hour plus every three or four songs. Thy other songs ate influences.

The Current deconstructs Princes multifaceted sound

How did one single artist manage to weave a tapestry of sound so complex that it could take years of academic conferences, books, newly unearthed recordings, and uncovered history to truly understand it?
