I am going to back up and stop my long posts becuase I realize people are concerned that the fans' strong opinions will drive away folks with info about Prince. Kind of ironic I am being a delicate flower, considering that negative opinion is deemed a reason associates might clam up. Anyhow, to defend myself a bit, one line didn't start me thinking that stuff-- it just was the straw that broke the camels back. these distrustful thoughts about this whole lucrative public mourning have been rising up for a while. It is not false rage at all. secondly, I didn't say that those descriptions of prince (autism spectrum etc) were beliefs I held on to with certainty..I said they were "Might have been" theories. Theories are not facts and there were quite a few different ones I contemplated because obviously we don't and didn't know the man. However, its ironic that two of his associates stated he might have been on spectrum (they don't have medical degrees either).

You shouldn't go changing what you said. But imo, this getting bent out of shape over every utterance of an associate at this point in history is too much. None of these people are Prince, they didn't sign up for this, all this was thrusted at them as unexpectantly as it was us. Trying to ride them as hard as some think others may have rode Prince like some danged whoopie cushion isn't going to get you anywhere. They had their own lives and careers before this mess and in time they'll be going back to them. So chill enjoy what there is because if you haven't woke up yet none of this is going to continue on at the same pace as it had in the past. And this about them making a profit, let's get real, how many $3bills are all up in here trying to make pocket change off the man's name and ain't never met him?

nod

Add to that the fake memorabilia and various out of print Prince cd's that popped up all over facebook and ebay by Prince's so called fans barely days after he transitioned. disbelief

I don't see where Kim was trashing Prince, but if there is 'trash talk' it doesn't make Prince a bad guy IMO...he was particular about everything and in control of his affairs and rightly so...

some fans are way to sensitive to what the associates are saying, i recall Morris Hayes, about the most steadfast guy around Prince, being criticized for saying "who's he going to kill today?" in an interview, first of all, we all know how demanding prince was, and how unreasonable he was, if we don't then we need to become true fans by reading a little more about him and second, we don't even know the context morris said that, was he laughing? was he saying it bitterly? and even if he was, it's not that big of a deal. I have problems with people who lie to get their face out there, I have problems with people who sell out the man (that gets real dicey so there we are) but criticism? shit, anyone could and should be criticized. that's never bothered me and i've been reading about prince for over 30 years, i wanted to know about the man i was idolizing and i learned a lot from the stories, that what we see isn't all there is, that we can still admire a persons work and even love a person but not like everything they do. I hope the stories keep coming, in my case, i only have grown in my admiration for the man with all the stories, the asshole stories i've known about since i was 16, these other ones the positive ones never saw the light of day.

I'm not knocking what people are doing it isn't anything new but let's not pretend it's only the associates that's doing it.

I am sorry I over-reacted to Kim's comments. I am weary of ambitious folks connected to celebrities interacting with media and selling books about them when they are not around to defend themselves.. I am also weary of balance in interviews. I forgot that that last interview of hers was one of many and that people listening to those podcasts probably already know a fair bit about his good and bad ways and are still fans regardless. I guess I think each interview should be conducted as if newbies who know nothing are listening and it just seemed like it was more negative than positive this time where Prince was concerned and more self-serving (for the lack of a better word) than usual. Though context is more apparent through the numerous interviews, this interview was definitely my least favorite of hers and for a few days left me feeling worried that her book would be pretty negative.. In this interview, She did mention suspecting that the light of God was in him and she did tell that nice story about Prince loving kids and playing with them enough for her daughter to call him a friend --but that positive stuff was brief and not until the very end. The interview had a negative vibe longer than was comfortable for me (due to what I referenced earlier about newbies). .Hell, maybe she stopped wanting to quit after he became "family". I hope so. I hope her book has the positive stuff she has said elsewhere and that she doesn't let editors or the urge to sell books or the urge to self promote or page restrictions push her into the more salicious or the more negative aspects of the man while ignoring the better or more normal qualities. . I am going to try to reserve judgment until the book comes out and I have either read it or heard from others who have. I am just really weary these days and last night that weariness became a bit of anxiety. I don't think I am completely wrong to be weary and there are still things that don't sit well with me--his mysterious death, the limited focus on his music from all eras, the supposed secret addiction so those things coupled with some wording that seemed callous (possibly because it was easy to take out of context by those not in the know) made me start to distrust Kim possibly unfairly..

it's good actually, i just wish the energy was differently, en masse, than it is, maybe we could actually get some real answers about his death. I've said it before but by and large, we don't have the same love that Elvis' fan's did, hell, just last week his fans came out the woodwork attacking priscilla over her elvis/suicide claims,i can only hope prince's fans would do that kind of thing in the the year 2058 for him.

Is this a serious post?

why the hell not, if it's not your culture how would you know. stupid to you? it's not for you.

First of all, I never said or implied it was stupid to me.
Second of all, I was simply asking a question. Not trying to bait anyone or pick a fight with anyone.

Speak for yourself. I ALWAYS defend Prince. Even to my own mother who called him a drug addict.

i'm not speaking for myself, i'm speaking as a collective, i do not think we have that kind of love, the kind of love that can make authorities change up their shit, as elvis' fans did when he died, they tried to cover the death up as a heart attack, the fans was not having it then and they don't put up with it when a Priscilla or a whoever comes out with bullshit today, they have zero tolerance and I like that about them. Even a couple years ago, Elvis' first photogragher, the one who took the classic fifties shots that everyone has seen but never think twice about, he was on facebook promoting a photobook during what he called "elvis death watch week" poorly worded but it wasn't intentionally worded that way, the fans went fucking crazy, just fucking crazy. The guy apologized, explained that he was pushing 80 and couldn't even remember his own name half the time. Will Prince fans do that in the future? I don't think so, like I said, we ain't got that kind of love.

Actually I agree with U. Most Prince fans don't have his back and never protest for his rights. In fact when he was alive they were CONSTANTLY tearing him apart. So why wouldn't they do the same thing in his passing and protect him? It's sad to say. But even Mj's fans wouldn't have put up with the non existent info of details on his passing. They would have marched and demanded the authorities to get more info and protect his legacy. So I totally agree with U.

From selling his socks apparently. Laura has been stalking some of the associates facebook pages. She had an argument with Morris Hayes and posted some negative stuff on both Kim and Sheila's pages. I got to hand it to her..she's got guts. Crazy, but brave. She posted questions about the socks on Kim's and people defended Kim.

I don't know if other stuff was posted on Kim's pages but I imagine that one manager's statement that everyone at least suspected that P was on drugs must have conjured up some negativity in the direction of folks who knew him somewhat intimately for a long space of time and seemed to be ignoring the white elephant in the room both now and possibly then as well. Plus, Omarr implied that Kim hadn't worked for P for 6 years in the reports. In KIm's defense, I do believe I remember reading earlier this year that she stopped working for him in Paisley but still did his hair when he came to L.A.

I think that’s awful. LR seems like a very angry, bitter person. Also why should we believe anything Omarr says? What evidence is there that he was part of Prince’s orbit and knew what was going on? From all the interviews I’ve listened to with Kim I don’t remember her saying she was ever based out of Minnesota. I always assumed she was in LA and just came to Minnesota or traveled with Prince when he needed her. And going after Morris Hayes? What for? I don’t like that Kim put stuff on auction but I don’t think people should be going to her social media pages to harass or yell at her. This vigilantism needs to stop. And another example of why I think making all this investiagtion stuff available to the public is a bad idea.
