This book was talked about prior to the others, and I am on the edge for this one. I cannot wait. But I'm sure not trying to rush time to get to October...

This looks great. Some of the promo images from this book are amazing!

As a photographer's book, I'm sure it will be of high quality.

The Afshin Shahidi book is also beautiful and great quality.

I was really disappointed with the Purple Rain Studio Era book as it was produced very cheap and has too many spelling mistakes... and no dust jacket!

cool

I don't care about more books. I bought a few when he first died. All they do is make me sad. I've got my own memories to look back on.

This one would be a photographs seen and unseen from the early-mid 80s

I'm not much for the early pics but from mid 80's up is great, for the most part. I'd buy more photo books from other photographers.

Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end nod

Yet, another book by another photographer. Who's next? Jeff Katz?

Photographer Allen Beaulieu worked with Prince from the late 1970s into the early '80s, capturing the musician’s progression from rising star to his ultimate purple superstardom. Always at Prince's side with camera in hand, Beaulieu helped Prince carry forward his vision with legendary album cover images and promotional photos during the groundbreaking Dirty Mind , Controversy , and 1999 era, while also capturing live performances on tour with Prince.

Prince: Before the Rain puts into focus the hallmark imagery—including behind-the-scenes, candid, and casual shots—with recollections from Beaulieu on his personal and professional relationship with Prince. Accomnpanying text will take the readers deeper into the context of these crucial years, with reminiscences from former bandmates, including Bobby Z., Dez Dickerson, André Cymone, and more.

Prince: Before the Rain paints another important picture in the mythology of the celebrated, influential, and endlessly invigorating performer while providing an intimate portrait of the Minnesota artist about to take over the world.

Forword by Dez Dickerson.

Coming October 15...

For some reason I think he should pick a different cover photo

^ I totally agree with you on that.

With all those great photos of Prince that he has, there's got to be a better picture for the front cover than what he has now.

Agree.

In my opinion Allen was the BEST photographer for PRINCE, and took the most iconic photo ever of PRINCE... The one wearing the purple jacket. That should've been the cover.

These images would be really good for a book cover. Something from 1979 might be the best.
I don't know who filmed the 1983 Dance Benefit show, but that screencap, something like that (before the rain) would be a great cover
