Shelby J posted a short video from her time at the Prince Symposium. I think it is just before she is about to perform. Yโ€™all can see my former co-worker, C. Liegh McInnis, resting on the table at the 23 sec mark of the video. https://www.facebook.com/...754502762/. If you blink, you will miss him. He's wearing a black trench coat. Of course, he and Militant were a couple of the great presenters at the symposium. He also sent pictures of him with Shelby J and Dr. Fink on his listserv, but I don't know how to post pics.

Ahhh thanks man!!!

I met your colleague and he was cool as hell. He also looped me in on the story behind your username ๐Ÿ˜‰ lol lol lol cool

Militant, I love your pics. Dr. Fink is laidback as usual, and Shelby J is beaming with joy. Great pics. And, is that a Jamie Starr t-shirt you're wearing?!? Now, that's nice!!! C. Liegh really enjoyed meeting you as well and really enjoyed you and your panel. And, of course, I knew he would just have to tell you the story behind my username. But, I can't deny it. I didn't have a clue at the time. biggrin Finally, thanks so much for all that you and the other Mods do to keep this place alive. No matter what, it's still the best place for information, resources, and good ole fandom!!!

The Purple Syllabus, a scholarly guide to Prince studies

Great link to books and articles here:

http://editions.lib.umn.edu/purplesyllabus/

"The #PurpleSyllabus presents essential topics, readings, and multimedia related to Prince. Princeโ€™s impact and influence spreads across nearly all aspects of society and culture. This syllabus presents works written by scholars and journalists across diverse topics. Our hope is that this syllabus will serve as a resource for teachers and curriculum designers looking to infuse their classrooms and courses with Prince content.

Created by Prince fans affiliated with the University of Minnesota Libraries in conjunction with the Prince From Minneapolis Symposium."

The website/syllabus is divided into seven topics: Geography of Prince, Prince the Artist, Prince and Sexuality, Prince and Technology, Prince and Race, Prince and Resistance, and Theology of Prince. The Lyrics of Prince by my former co-worker, C. Liegh McInnis, is listed under Prince the Artist, subtopic performance. That is an odd listing/categorizing of his book since it covers literary/artistic theory, race, sexuality, religion/spirituality, and has one chapter on geography, but I'm glad to see that it is listed. Overall, it is a very solid resource, but I'm not sure if it includes Dave Hill's Prince: A Pop Life. And, yet, I'm thinking that this list may just include works by folks who presented at the symposium.

Yep, good spot on the shirt, here's a better pic of it!

I'm glad folks enjoyed the panel, it was pretty nerve-wracking to get up there but super fun, and cathartic.

Thanks for the compliments. It can be a lot of work on here but it's worth it smile
