Wait until <eye> records releases a remaster of this epic recording.

Prince calls out Bodyheat in B-Flat and tells Sheila to stay on the drums. she jokes and says "idk it" lol that was funny. then they proceed to go into one of the funkiest versions of the song. Sheila was really a great drummer and Prince loved using her even this early

Gorgeous track that could have easily been a hit back then if he'd given it to a capable artist (and of course worked out lyrics etc.). Reminds me of the Noon Rendezvous rehearsal that just keeps on going and going and going.

.

Astonishing that such gems keep popping up, almost 35+ years later.

Yes for sure, I totally agree.

It's great to hear a track unfolding and developing particualarly in a band scenario, rather than Prince working on his own with an engineer in the studio.

I suppose one day the vault will reveal if he ever went back and finished this track.

lol

'You asleep today!'
'Drop out the sax. Who wasn't playing in the first place.'

Even if just one in twenty soundchecks would be as interesting as this one, the Estate (and WB) will never release these soundchecks in our lifetimes.

So thanks a lot for them bo0tleggars putting stuff out.
