Love4OneAnother Whatchu Think

What is your definition of Love4OneAnother?

How do you spread the Love4OneAnother around, or in your daily life?

What can you do for Love4OneAnother?

With some nasty negativity going around that is NOT Love4OneAnother. I thought this would be a good discussion.

Where U can help, lend a hand.

Where U can share, give it away.

Don't react to everything.

Love yourself.

Treat others like they want/need to be treated.

With all the negativity, feuds and flaming I've seen on this board for 15 years, I can only conclude one thing: we haven't understood a thing Prince has written or sang and we, as the New Power Generation, are a complete failure sad

.

More seriously, I've met many a fan who didn't give a shit about the moral/spiritual aspect of Prince's music/lyrics. I, for one, was greatly influenced by his lyrics when I was young. Didn't make a saint out of me, but probably Prince made me a much better person.

.

As to how to spread it in one's daily life, I'd say leave people alone, don't give them shit, try not to hurt them, be fair. I usually don't bother others and when they bother me, I try to favor flight over fight whenever possible. The Org is most certainly the place where I'm the meanest and it took me a long time to realize that the reason why is probably that being here "forces" me to "hang out" with some people I would politely avoid having anything to do with in real life. It might be the reason why so many of us get upset at each other: were we to meet in real life, we'd never get to interact, we'd instinctively avoid each other.

Don't even pretend Prince was innocent. He fostred a culture where fans attacked fans, and when that didn't give him the expected result -- control of all fansites -- he started suing fans.

.

And we later found out this had started even earlier: Sevenmag for instance had already gotten a lot of shit dumped on them before that whole mess.

.

I was quite frankly shocked to see the name of at least one major player in the whole anti-fan movement as part of a panel of last year's Celebration.

Apparently there was never someone in Prince's entourage
clever or convincing enough to make a point about going full bootleg in the WB wars.
Everyone probably just gave him the ol' confirmation bias.

Instead of the Slave stuff, Prince could have leverage all actors in place :
bootleg labels, fan magazines, small venues...
and become a mini-industry of his own,
with international publications and surprise releases.

Then when WB would have sued, Prince would have played the "hey it's another brand" sketch,
things would have stagnate legally, it would have closed in the same arrangement it did,
but in the meantime we would have had a major artist that would have gotten
the best curation ever in pop history, not to mention a steady growing popularity over the years,
with live venues, small and big always guaranteed to be filled (but that's been almost always the case).

No, Prince can't get easy on this one.

He did the opposite any sane underground indie label would have done.
That's the problem with "Purple Rain": he made him step out into Hollywood and big productions, and the big bucks.
He earned them, but as someone capable of putting out a #1 hit whenever he feels like,
he should have played the indie card (and I thought "all that glitters ain't gold" was stating that,
instead we got "Emancipation", which sorry but, is not what was expected after "The Exodus Has Begun")
with a little help from his true friends. If music was really what it was all about,
then someone could have told him people in bootleg don't do it to become millionnaires.
They sell stuff to break even: you think printing a thousand CD was cheap in the nineties?

The biggest indie international network (and yes, SKipper, it would have required for you to share the loot, because following you is a full time job and when will we B paid?), a TMBGITW when Prince's ego and PP's bacn account requires it, and everyone is happy.

Artists can sell artworks on T-Shirts and Mugs, do Special Edition signed merch, and $77 is properly marketed so you get a critical 100,000 subscribers base and growing, et voilà. Don't tell me you can't run a damn fine website for seven million bucks.

Ah, fuck, I should have quit the fast food and pilgrim over to Audubon Road back in the days.
I would have yell it with a megaphone, sun or rain, on a soap box at the gate, holding a "go pirates!" sign.
Ah! I would have saved the entire New Power Generation on my own!

Woulda, coulda...

thanks 4 this thread luv4u yes

well ... the key to practice love4oneanother is to realize that love comes without condition.
boy, I could write a 600 pages book about this realization and its consequences for ur own life, the people around u and our planet easily.

but looking at this thread and the comments it would rather be "stop looking what others do and using it as a justification for ur own actions" to begin with. ok now this would be book 2 ...

I really try to remind myself about both every single day and ...

... don't judge. cuz I will never know whats really going on in someones mind and life and it's none of my business.

... if I don't have anything positive to contribute I usally say nothing.

... give myself the challenge to make people feel better after running into me
(this one can be pretty hard at times with all the tasks life has in store but at least 1 person a day is really doable ... give a smile to an obviously angry stranger or just be nice to someone who didn't expect it)

... forgive. cuz I assume that everyone does the best he can at this very moment. don't get me wrong: I don't surround myself with people who are hurting others regularily. but thats my personal decision and has nothing to do with forgiveness.

... I'm always aware of the fact that there's a human being in front of me - online and offline.

... I don't bother the people around me with my personal affairs and troubles. cuz we all have more than enough to handle everyday. no need to use others as a dump ... give them a moment of ease instead.

... never expect anything. if I do something 4 someone I do it because it feels right 4 me. period. case closed. there're no expectations of being loved for it or getting anything in reward ... I believe in the power of the universe ... everything comes back to u at some point ... the good and the ugly.

the thing is: all of this might sound incredible selfless and angel-like. well, it's not.
once u've started to live by principles like these u'll start loving urself more and ur own life becomes way easier.

A very interesting question!

It is hard to think if this is relevant anymore. Our societies no longer have community structures. Our politicians are out for themselves and charities pay themselves fat-cat salaries.

Charity is a commodity.

Our neighbour is our enemy. The police are our enemy and out of control.

The inmates are now running the asylum [seekers].

The minority is the majority. Religion is an excuse for atrocity against man, animal, bird, fish and insect. The environment is on it's knees.

Religion is the tumour and the inmates are the cancer.

Our heroes are spent.

We have social breakdown.

Where next? Who knows!
