I don't trust JayZ or Van Jones; they are both phony and opportunists. Van likes to prop himself up on a pedestal like he is the authority of everything PRINCE. Gimme a break!! I think JayZ was trying to get all of Prince's music, so he could cash-in. JayZ never cared about Prince or his legacy.

Well, I tend to get protective or jealous sometimes. But I think that while Van comes across as very enthusiastic sometimes, he is really, really proud of his friendship with Prince, and Prince obviously had a huge impact on him. Does he worship him. Yep. I do too. Guilty as charged! confused [Edited 3/2/18 12:24pm]

Yes, I think you're right. Let's face it, Van and Prince were great friends. It was Van who told us about all the work Prince did for charities. Prince kept it quiet of course. No one needed to know. Now we do know, all because of Van. Van's great.

Lord almightly!!!! This is sickening to watch!!!! They are so far up eachother's arse that it will take a very brave search party to save them!

Why is it that people are always desperate to name drop Prince? It's disgusting.

Why oh why keep playing the 'black' card. Get over it, move on! He's not your borther and nor am I.

I pity these very sad and lonely individuals who clearly have nothing left in their lives other to latch onto any tiny fibre of a thread that may link them to Prince.

What are you babbling on about they both worked with him and Prince sought them out not the other way around. Maybe if some of his other friends talked about him instead of rushing to cash in they would not come off as self serving dick heads with no other means of income but people jock riding.

Both Van and Jay were doing a lot of things before Prince came into their lives. No need to get snippy because Prince did not forget who he was or were he came from. Oh we are all brothers and sisters in the human race so take your negative somewhere eles.

Reading this I see why Prince kept the gates up at Paisley Park. U guys just believe anything from TMZ instead of using sound judgement, receipts, common sense and research.

Sorry Van is Harvard trained lawyer who was writing books long before he met Prince. His most recent book is not about Prince at all.

I guess your plumber, your contractor, your mechanic, your teacher, your dentist, your policeman, your fireman, and your doctor are all opportunist too, or do they work for free?

I guess some of you are missing my point. I know he is a lawyer and has written several books.

The minute Prince died.......there was Van Jones on CNN, plugging his book about Prince! He always props himself up on the authority of everything that is Prince. I've read things about him that were not too cool, so I have formed my own opinion about him. I didn't say he was uneducated.

He was not pluggin a book he was talking about Prince and charity on CNN. He just wrote a book about a month ago which has one chapter about Prince. He worked for Prince for a good while and never has said one bad thing about him. It has nothing to do with his polictics.

Van Jones was trying to be co-executor of Prince's estate; it's all about the money!

Because he was representing Omarr Baker for a while and it appears Omarr wanted him to be the PA. You do realize someone had to be the PA and they are not going to do it for free.

Van helped Prince find and distrube money to charities so what commission was he receiving? Van was also working at CNN at the time of Prince's death. Why would he be crying over thel loss of a job when he already had another one.

He started "Yes We Can Code" with Prince a non-profit that is still active. What exactly has Van done that makes him not trust worthy because he certainly is not Lonnie or Patrick Cousins.

Yes, but you have to be careful of some of these charities. Some of them do not use the funds properly, or put the cash in their own pockets. I'm not saying that this is what Van is doing, but I have a hard time trusting people who work in the media business. They always seem to have some ulterior motive.

It doesn't matter if he graduated from Havard, Yale or Princeton. A lot of people have academic achievements, but that doesn't necessarily make them "good people".

I know lots of people who have a high education, multiple degree's and PhD., and some of them are not so nice, jerks, liars, posers, users, don't work hard and earn a 6-figure salary, cheat on their wives....I could go on and on. My husband worked with a guy who had PhD and didn't do shit for his 6-figure salary--and even slept on the job! I have no respect for people like that.

.

I am not saying Van Jones is any of those, but he is well-known, and is not treated like the average Joe.

Prince assigned the last 4 albums to Dreamcorps so money is going to the charity. What do you mean by stake? How are people who want to donate to the charity suppose to donate if they do not know about it.
