flu was a coverrup for whatever was really going on. celebs try to say exhaustion, dehydration or some other bullshit as a smokescreen when they really have personal issues they don't want people knowing about. Prince had colds and flu's many times throughout the years, he rarely was stopped by those sorts of things.

The comment about the flu came about before the plane incident or the cancellation of the Atlanta show. I think it was in February or March, so there was no speculation at that time of anything being wrong with him.

I agree; I think he used the "flu" to keep the media from running amok. I remember reading an interview with Wendy, and she said that Prince often would use the "flu" as an excuse when he wanted to get out of something, i.e, an event or appearance.

he was told to have a flu and stay in the infamous night of the bodyguard beatdown/we are the world debacle too he didn't listen that time, went to carlos and charlies and shit, started a backlash that took a long time to turn back around.

.

Yea.....that was a weird scene.

ithought the date of the original atlanta show was april 7 or so, either way it wasn'tthat longbefore he passed. his chef said he had something wrong with his digestive system but he had no idea what it was, whatever it was, it did not seem to affect his vocal cords whatsoever, he never sang better live.

I had to learn the hard way that what people say and what they do are often opposite things so I focus more on what they do and not so much on what they say in general. The man talking of the virtues of humility is most likely having a crisis with that himself the man who preaches forgiveness is trying to convince himself not you. That's what I've seen and learned the hard way. There's a video of Jim Jones' son on youtube right after the jonestown tragedy, he's known to be one of the few people to openly question his father and he was saying here how his father always preached against egoism and he "was the most egotistical man I ever knew" I understood exactly what he was saying.

I had to learn the hard way too. I for one don't have the time anymore to act different from what i say (...). And sure I did the oposite in my life, just like everyone else.

And Yes, I also learned to focus on what people do instead of what they say. I agree on that.

Being clear about the fact that i'm no better than anyone else.

Just give me the normal, with the good and the bad. No highs with not too many lows.

And preaching is what it just is. A sort of personal projection (of trying to understand the hysteria and frustrations of one self) on others.

Pete, I meant that I think he made the comment in February or March. The original Atlanta show (that was canceled was 4/7 and plane incident was after the 4/14 concerts). I didn't mean to suggest that the concerts were in February or March, but rather that the comment was from February or March (iirc).

well, for me, i put it down to not just naivety or stupidity but actually because I'm decent enough that there are a lot of things i wouldn't do so I think "they wouldn't do that" and of course that's not how it works. after all I've been through, sometimes i still trust the wrong people.

I, personally, wasn’t aware of his health issues that time that I took those blind gossips referring to him with a grain of salt, then him dying suddenly was shocking and heartbreaking. sad
