I don't "keep forgetting" anything. What you wrote after that has nothing do with this particular topic, so don't try to muddy it up.

-

If you read what I wrote, you'd see that I said: It's true we don't know if he had agreed to go to california, or anywhere for rehab. You'd see that, because I actually cite sources, i include a link to a New York Times article that quoted Kornfeld's lawyer as saying: "“The hope was to get him stabilized in Minnesota and convince him to come to Recovery Without Walls in Mill Valley." That sounds like they still had some persuasion to do.

-

Are you saying that if he was resistent to going to a rehab clinic, it's "proof" that he had terminal cancer? Or it means that he wasn't actually addicted? Once again, addicts often resist treatment -- or even fully ackowledging the severity of their problem. I'm not following what you see as so significant...

Do you think just maybe that meeting was planned the week or so before? Don't you think it is strange that he was suppose to be packing his bags and going to Califorinia if he had a meeting set up with some Holistic healing center and Harry who is based out of NY>

Maybe he decided that day to take his life you know at 1:00 in the morning. He certainly did not clear his calander for rehab or even show up in the lobby to meet Andrew.

Don't you think not clearing the schudule makes it appear that things are just going along as they normally due which would not alarm anyone.

In fact if they were going to stablize him why not do it at the hospital since it was already checked in the day before.

You keep forgetting Prince choose to leave that hospital with access to legit meds.

But according to you, Prince intentionally ended his life on April 21, due to his terminal cancer. So it make sense that he would have a meeting on his schedule with Belafonte for a day when he expected to be dead, but not after he went to rehab?

-

(and I'm still not understanding the relevance of what rehab treatment he had or hadn't agreed to on April 20. It's very common that addicts don't want certain treatment, and then they get persuaded during an intervention. In fact, that's pretty similar to what Kornfeld's lawyer said in May 2016: "“The hope was to get him stabilized in Minnesota and convince him to come to Recovery Without Walls in Mill Valley.")

I think that if they were going to in anyway get prince to
Address this issue it would have to be by bringing the docs to him at least
Initially. Now if he knew they were coming or not is the question. I think
He may have because if he went to the hospital on the 4/20
To get detox relief it shows he was trying to stay alive. The question is was he alone on his own at night from moline forward to 4/21. Maybe he was, so why would they say on the night of 4/20 I’m going stay the night with Prince. I will agree
That I think for the most part Prince wasn’t “going” to rehab but I think he was gonna consider rehab assistance in his own home.

Another thing that popped in my head this morning....Wouldn't investigators check Prince's schedule on his laptop/computer for that day (21st)? That would give some insight to whether or not he was planning to go on this invervention--I mean, at least a slight chance. I'm sure Prince kept a daily planner at his desk or maybe he used Outlook, or had an assistant who was doing his planning.....I don't know.

.

What is disturbing is that they did not conduct a search warrant right away, so any personal information Prince had in his private quarters, could have easily been tampered with.

According to Harry Belefonte he was suppose to meet with Prince later that week. I once again doubt he was going to California to rehab. We do know that someone moved his laptop when the police came back to get it from the search warrants.

[Edited 2/1/18 6:51am]

.

He was? I love Harry Belefonte! Such a gentleman! Imagine all the stuff that was moved around at P.P. before the search warrant. The crime scene was contaminated and it was not a proper investigation......makes me so damn mad!! pissed

For the 99th time. It is family members who are saying he had pancretic cancer that was terminal.

I have never said he was not having problems with these pills ( which is all you care about ) If someone is in pain What are the chances they are over using the pills and making themselves ill ?

Because the reality is he was not drugged out so much that he could not make it to those concerts sometimes flying thousands of miles. I am still not convienced he was as gravely ill as Dr. K tried to makes him out to be. Dr. K was trying to save his son's ass.

If you have a terminal cancer and may have found out it was terminal in the last weeks or day of your life would you be packing your bag to leave for California?

I do not have any proof of anything. I have what info is out there and I am applying common sense. I also think we all know from your continualy carrying on how typical addicts act about rehab that is has not ever occured to you that Prince's problems were not typical. That other health issues exsisted. He was actually in the hospital the day before so how resistent do you think he was to medical treatment. I just think he was going to get stablized at home ( maybe from holistic means ) and was not going for a long term stay at a rehab. I hope I am clear.

Maybe if he was terminally ill, and didn't want to slowly die in front of our eyes, he chose to leave us quickly and painlessly and with the Prince-like mystery which we witnessed throughout his career. Making a final statement, how ridiculous it is to have so many pain killers in society so easily available to all.
As equality grows, violence declines.

I hope you get the help you need. Dude If I think he was dying and actually took enough drugs to kill a whale why would I see him as struggling in the early mornings of April 21st. If I believe he was doing at that time what he wanted to do.

I never said he was not using pain pills. I just think he decided that day enough was enough and he was not struggling anymore.

How many ways does this need to be explained and what is your real agenda? If you do not believe he was dying of cancer then so be it. What is it about this idea that is burning your butt cheecks?

Do you work for the family? Do you work for the estate? Or you a part of the secret keeping force?

Why do you care? It will all come out one day. For 30 years we had no idea he was as charitable as he was and that came out and since we do not have a lot of slanderous stories he was not a wild as we think either.

Nothing was as it appeared with him. You saw what he wanted you to see right to the end.

disch said:

Acutally, you did say he wasn't struggling with drugs. You said that although he may have developed an addiction, it wasn't a problem because he was using the drugs to keep himself comfortable in his final weeks before he ended his life due to his terminal cancer.

laurarichardson said:

What is your point? No one said he not struggling with drugs and no one said he did not die of an overdoes. Some of us believe other health issues were simultanoulsy taking place and we have no proof that he was on board with any sort of intervention.

Not really that complicated. In addition, what is shocking about being dependent on pain meds if you are in pain. Not sure what some of you would have him do otherwise.

Because he wouldn't have resorted to using drugs procured illicitly if he had a legit disease. Period. End of story. People in fact were aware of his generosity and charitable ways. Maybe not you and the public in general but i have heard of several instances over the years. I live in MN. You didn't know jack s**t about him. And i wonder if you were ever even a fan or why you are here in the first place. Other than to keep this nonsense going forever because this is your life. This is it right here. You wake up to get on the org and spend another day irritating, annoying, and inciting arguments. Please everyone stop participating in it. Please just stop. I'm not sure that if Prince had a terminal illness, he would not have taken those illicit pills. He was struggling with pain, and it does not appear that he was receiving any type of professional pain management.

.

He had only seen Dr. Schulemberg two times, and I would think that if he had some type of terminal illness for 2-3 years prior, his primary physician would have already known that, and Dr. Schulemberg would have been well aware of that. It seems to me that Prince went to see Dr. Schulemberg as a spur of the moment/last resort thing (he was Kirks doctor).

thing that makes me think he might have even requested a pill like that was that he had what was it? 81 times what it would have taken to kill him? It's like he didn't want no chances of anyone bringing him back again, a mistake in dosage like that doesn't even sound like a mistake.

Good! It bothers the hell out of me too! nod

For the record...it's been bothering the hell out of me...straight out the gate...every single motherfucking day of the last 635 of them! NO MATTER WHAT has been going on in my normal day-to-day.

Hell, I'm looking in the mirror and giving my own self the side eye...like "WTF? It's either ME or everybody else that's tripping!" Yet on the real (that Prince...Himself...TAUGHT me) and everything I hold dear--I KNOW-- there's not a damn thing wrong with ME!!!

Designer drugs. It's a real thing to get drugs custom made to what you want and easily obtained on line.

It's amazing how many hours each day Laura spends here. I kind of think she is a professional, as in paid to be here and fuck discussions up, boondoggler. especially as pertains to any investigation thread.

agree. too many weirdnesses going on. just can't believe i am reading the words "Prince" and "homicide investigation" together in a sentence. wtf happened? it all strikes me as surreal and the outcome of the investigation so far simply doesn't do him justice.

My question too Purplefam...is there a tompetty.org where his fans are arguing over the fact he had both prescribed fentanyl and illicit fentanyl in his system?

From what I read about Recovery Without Walls is that you have to live on-campus. So, Prince would not have been able to have treatment at PP. No one can recover from addiction at home, unless Prince was going to have a team of addiction specialists at PP, 24/7, which I don't think is possible, and would not be private, as everyone would know about it. From Recovery Without Walls website: While Recovery Without Walls is an outpatient clinic, when intensive treatment is advisable, patients are lodged in a comfortable private residence or a local boutique hotel near the clinic. Experienced Personal Recovery Assistants are utilized for up to 24-hour care for each individual patient and provide compassionate, nurturing attention and encouragement

Outpatient is noted (patients are lodged at a private residence or boutique hotel near the clinic). A patient is not contained at the facility as that would be categorized Inpatient (where one is admitted into the facility). Outpatient Rehab and Treatment Outpatient drug rehab is less restrictive than inpatient programs. Outpatient recovery programs usually require 10 to 12 hours a week spent visiting a local treatment center. These sessions focus on drug abuse education, individual and group counseling, and teaching addicted people how to cope without their drug. Outpatient drug rehab can be a good standalone option for someone with a mild addiction, or it can be part of a long-term treatment program. Sourced here - https://www.addictioncent...ent-rehab/

Yes, they are an Outpatient clinic; however, Prince would have needed "intensive treatment" with his addiction; therefore, he would have had to remain on-site with supervision, 24/7. I don't think Prince's case was a simple one, where he could just be treated at his home/PP. Do you think he would need simple treatment?

What I think is of no consequence; however, I do believe this scenario (outpatient/home based) is the ONLY treatment plan he would ever slightly consider. Hence, the reason he was not admitted to Hazelton. While individual state laws and policies are changing, an adult cannot be forced to undergo treatment of any kind.

I feel associates/friends and the like did the best they could under the circumstances. I would imagine they were absolutely worried sick about Prince. I also believe Prince was going to deal with the situation his way and was willing to accept whatever fate had intended.

Thank you for saying this. I had not considered it before, but it makes perfect sense, especially for someone so private.
It's actually fairly common for those who have the means to undergo rehab at home. There are, of course, advantages snd disadvantages to doing so at one's home.

I hear you -- i wasn't so much trying to argue that he's a stellar doctor (I don't really know anything about his outcomes either way), just that the standard public info available about him doesn't shed light on any particular bad practices. If there was something disrepeputable about him, I'm not sure how Prince's associates would have found that info, especially in the very short time in which he was pulled into the situation (less than a day)

cloveringold85 said:

I don't need to see Dr. Kornfeld's medical license/certifications; it won't change my opinion of him.

He wasn't "pulled" into the situation, he chose to take a critical high profile case that he could not attend to immediately. He never should have accepted prince as a client, he should have guided princes people to a doctor that could have been there immediately. Had a recommended addiction specialist seen prince the day the call was made to kornfeld, kornfeld could actually have taken credit for getting the ball rolling in the right direction. But because he irresponsibly decided to take princes case, the ball never rolled anywhere, game over...thanks kornfeld...

He definitely should have, at a maximum, had someone at PP within 2 hours. The best time to do this is **yesterday**. Prince had just ODd. I'd bet my house Kornfeld knew this.
Too little. Too late.
He should have been in treatment of some sort after Moline, 24 hours max.
It had already too long.
