His Real Minnesota home??

OK, bear with me. After listening to various audio recordings regarding aspects of Prince's life & having visited PP last year, I have questions. I know he had homes all around the globe, but when he was in his home state, where did he really live? I know that he had as estate where he and Mayte lived in MN that after there marriage was over he had bulldozed down. When we visited Paisley, it was a wonderful production space and now a museum, but it seemed cold and not home-like.

Recently on this site, there was a link to a house there in Chanhassen that supposedly belonged to him that was now on the market. I remember recently looking at it, and one of the bedrooms was still done all in purple, including the drapes. Was this the place? Today I listened to a recording from the 90's where they asked Andre where Prince lived right after Purple Rain came out, and even he was not completely sure, they just met up for jam sessions. (The Park had not been built yet at that time.)

I have been to Graceland once, and it did feel like a home. Like you could buzz the cook downstairs and tell her what you wanted for breakfast. Someone with insider information clear this up...

Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...

Paisley Park was Prince's home for around the last decade of his life.

If you search the Org for "Galpin" or "Kiowa Trail", there is plenty of information about his properties, especially within a few months after he died. All the rental and business properties he owned, plus the purple house (Kiowa Trail), yellow house (the bulldozed one on Galpin, and in the "Gett Off" videos), the land he owned, and more.

There is one photo of a very, very tacky house that is all purple and it looks like it's out of the 70s. NOT his house, of course.

Search. Find. Learn.

The Galpin House was purple also since 2000. The windmill was left yellow though. Yes

I was under the impression that it was his Minnesota residence after his previous residence was torn down in 2005.

I've seen other threads on the org that said he lived at PP from around 2006.

We know he lived in L.A because of the 3121 parties, Afrins book and meetings, band reherals and even a interview with a cook who worked for him at the house.

According to the Star Tribune it seems Prince was back living in Minnesota full time some time in 2009.

If I recall correctly he had a place on Dakota Avenue or something?
Here we are, offered by the Prince estate:

Lots of people said he was living in Paisley Park on his final few years though didn't they? I think I recall someone saying that his living area isn't part of the tour.

I'd imagine anywhere that wasn't Paisley Park he wanted to make pretty anonymous to stop people turning up and bothering him.

Where'd he really live? In his music.

The Dakota ave property was a rental property. There was one across the street from the Galpin house, in a newer housing addition, that he also bought to rent out. He was a landlord. But he lived at Paisley Park.

P didnt bulldoze his house down after his marriage to M1 was over.

He bulldozed the house down during his divorce with M2.

He spent as much time in PP from 1987 on as any other residence. He rented in LA and owned in T&C, where he spent the warmer months.

Those celebrations at PP weren't him coming in for just a few days. Look at where he recorded during that time, from 2006 on.

When I looked at property/residence records, Linda Huntsberry is listed as the last "current resident". Recently, another name has been added. I think he supported Big Chick's family for years.

1986 was the year Paisley Park estate was Prince's home. I did not know that Prince had bulldoze the house him and Mayte shared. I would had thought Prince would had sold real fast to get hismoney back. But bulldoze it down. That sounds like anger to me. I am just curious why Prince wouild do something like that?

Because he was going thru a divorce and he did not want M2 to get it. If she had been successful she would have got a big empty lot with nothing on it.

In the e-mail exchange with her he said it was infected. Maybe infected with bad memories.

Now there you are...the real answer, in his music. But I do realize that you didn't see the living quarters on the tour. Like the elevator they had walled off, some things probably should not be seen this side of the veil. Can't even continue to talk about this, makes me too sad.
