Prince's Personal Record Collection

In an interview Prince had with George Lopez and he said he still had a vinyl collection. Will we ever see a list of his album collection. Not the albums he recorded but albums he bought.

i'm sure we will, they show elvis' album collection and it illustrates how diverse his tastes were, maybe even more diverse than Prince's.

Adorecream

I can't remember where it was, but some magazine I read in the 90s from the late 80s (Possibly NME or Melody Maker) said that Prince would scout Record Stores in the UK and Europe while on tour and sometimes they would shut the stores down, so Prince could browse in peace.

.

I also read about how he would have several bodyguards standing with him and Prince would take albums out of the rack and make them carry them out to his limo. I also read he bought multiple copies of some records (Although a story about him buying 100 copies of every Michael Jackson album and single seems far fetched). Also we know Prince was listening to a lot of pop/funk and electronica artists as S express (Some late 80s dance group from the UK) claimed Prince told them he had all their records.

.

In one of the Prince books, it also mentioned in the early days that Warners were giving him bundles of free records from other Warners artists and Prince was listening to them for ideas. This I believe as he was a musical magpie looking for new influences and trends by other artists that he could embellish his own sound with.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I've always wondered about that. I would love to see Prince's personal music collection!!

I remember that. I think that is quite telling. The stuff he could not help mentioning in his interviews, so all of the above plus sly stone, larry graham. I figure the above records were repurchases.

U forgot the list also supposedly included an album that could be a telling joke (*or not) from gallows humor..

' THE BEST OF MISSING PERSONS"

Was he gonna miss them? Will they be missing him? The best of "missing persons"?

I hate to charter that notion that "he knew" but in my mind, I'm really on the fenon the fence about what happened confused So confusing. Distressing

According to an article on MPRNEWS.ORG the last 6 cds he bought were:

https://www.mprnews.org/story/2016/04/21/prince-last-cd-purchases-at-electric-fetus

1 - Stevie Wonder - TALKING BOOK

2- Chambers Brothers - THE TIME HAS COME
3) Joni Mitchell - Hejira

4) Swan Silvertones - INSPIRATIONAL GOSPEL CLASSICS

5) MISSING PERSONS - THE BEST OF MISSING PERSONS
6) Santana - SANTANA IV (It had been released APril 15th - got my copy a week before in the mail)

but those titles were a bit alarming to me... as I'm certain with some other people who tried desperately to wade through the stuff and figure out what the hell happened to Prince.

That AVATAR as well.. Third Eye Awakened, eyes shut.

plus the face kinda looks like someone on a pulpit if you ask me. Ears are hands extended

Those things always bothered me.

Was he Telegramming stuff? Or was I (paranoid and devastated Prince fan) just chasing nothing and mind-spamming myself hoping to figure things out?

It is a wide-array of different music genres, that's for sure.

.

I listened a little bit to the gospel music and I just wept uncontrollably. sad

.

Was this his way of preparing himself for the afterlife?

.

Yes, the third-eye; becoming more spiritually-conntected.

.

.......All very perplexing.
