My apologies if this has been posted, but everyone here needs to hear this: http://minnesota.cbslocal...ces-death/ No surprises. But I am surprised at the amount of debate that continues considering this re-inforces what has been stated from the beginning about his cause of death. Accidental overdose of fentanyl. Fentanyl was procured vis the black market from China. Zero proof Prince was otherwise ill. Kirk likely had knowlege of his struggle. No criminal charges likely, at least not serious. Minor charges possible if at all. No wrong doing on the part of several major players. Its as it always has been. Prince OD'd and should have been monitored more closely until real help was secured. A damn shame and a sad, tragic end to a magical life that stopped abruptly and much too soon. ❤ RIP Prince, your loss is still felt deeply here [Edited 1/31/18 14:02pm]

sad

And there we have it.

What a damn shame we had to lose another great artist do to drugs.

As we discuss Tyka moving on to the new lawyer, I keep thinking about Prince knowing he was just a cash register to these people - all of them. Relatives, friends, women, employees, advisors ... How awful to apparently have no one who loved him for him and not for his money.

Well his 1st wife loved him and not for his money, but that's not what he wanted.

Nailed it, Penny...the demise of that marriage was his undoing, IMO.

I agree. As much as I don't like what Mayte has said and done after the marriage, she did genuinely love Prince. I have no doubt about that.

Keep in mind that about 50% of marriages end when their is a death of a child. This could have been a major reason for the demise of the marriage.

Agree mostly, but I do believe he had private relationships going on that we know nothing about. I know that Jill Jones and Dr F said/implied that.

Well, depending on the specific subject, I might not be using either name. But I do believe that it's not a stretch that he had private relationships. Someone else just said that recently too but I can't recall who it was. Either way, I am fine with it.

And because Jill does not kiss the ass of the Revolution she would have no means of knowing that he has private relationships? She was in a private relationship with him and knew about others he was seeing.

The beginning of this interview is hysterical to me cause he is watching the
Interviewer set up and the look on princes face is just so honest and rare of him just looking at someone and trying to understand their world.

THERE WAS A FORENSIC TOX DONE IN THIS CASE!

THAT"S WHY THE DEA TOOK THIS CASE OVER AND WENT BACK TO PAISLEY PARK.

First off, stop shouting. I should have been clearer in that what I meant was that she had no reason to have a forensic tox because there was suspicious, suspect foul play. It was only to determine if drugs played a role in the death as the cause of death couldn't be determined after the autopsy alone. It's not as if she at any point treated the death as suspicious. DEA got involved solely due to the fact that illicit drugs and illegal means of obtaining them was a factor in this case. It doesn't indicate foul play. Them going back to Paisley Park was pro forma. You seem to try to make forensic and criminal synonymous. They are not. Just like this case being a homicide investigation doesn't mean that anyone in the investigation necessarily thinks this is in fact a homicide. It is called that due to the fact that depending on whether the person from whom Prince procurred the drugs knew they contained lethal amounts of fentanyl. Depending on this the charges may be but not limited to culpable homicide, voluntary manslaughter, murder or no charges at all. All of this is SOP. There is nothing unusual about any of it and everything suggests that the investigation has followed the procedural protocol. You are so hell bent on this being a murder that you are misusing medico-legal terminology either on purpose or because you don't understand them in context. You also seem to like to throw in the mix thinly vailed hints that you have some sort of sub rosa info that the rest of us, the hoi polloi isn't privy to from which you draw some of your conclusions. Granted, you are certainly not the only one. Might want to open your eyes instead of entertaining conspiracy theories. That way you might see a lot more clearly the evidence that is right in front of you. I know it can be a buzzkill for facts are often boring. The same old Occam's razor... C'est la vie. [Edited 1/29/18 4:21am]

Outstanding post...Big Thanks (oops, almost shouted there)...apparently Prince died of an overdose of illegal drugs which were self-administered either purposely or accidentally (not my personal belief)..WHY he took those drugs (pain, depravity, cancer, he thought they were Aleve, the Man, the Illuminati, etc, ad nauseum ) will be debated for decades bc that's the nature of celebrity death.

The the fact/reality is that's he's dead by his own hand....and there's not much more to say except he didn't leave a will, his estate is being bled white by the costs of untangling same, people he barely knew will inherit millions, his artistic output is in the process of fading from public consciousness and the Org. has devolved into a showcase/debating society where some people believe the stridency, frequency and sheer meanness of their posts make them the decider on all things Prince.

He died as he lived (as perhaps we are all fated to do), in a mysterious, disorganized, stubborn, flamboyant, willful manner, almost selfish considering the pain, confusion and anguish he left behind.

But from the time he was a child, that's how he rolled...he always did exactly what he wanted to do....and let the chips fall where they may. RIP.

[Edited 1/29/18 11:14am]

Excellent post, Bodhi. I agree.
It's amazing how many facts there are if one bothers to pay attention. Huge difference between opinion/perspective & facts/data.
Of course all are entitled to their own opinions, no question. But data isn't going 2 change by mere desire.

I did not see one report of record that had a pill labeled "fentanyl" circulating at that time. The only two pills in mass circulation that had toxic levels of "fentanyl" in it, were the roxy/s and a-215's. These were labeled the "poison pills" or "kill pills".

The imprints correspond with that of the drug manufactured by a legitimate pharmaceutical company and later duplicated (imprinted) and distributed by the cartels/street level vendors with varying amounts of fentanyl or other opiates in them. I highly doubt that a street vendor or an addict would be able to tell you how much fentanyl/opiate was in each pill . What was known by LE was that these two pills were the cause of most of the overdoses leading to death in Minnesota/nationwide at that time. It was also well known that addicts were requesting these two pills because of the effects produced prior to an overdose.

Prince, did not knowingly take a pill that had the imprint "fentanyl" in it. He died of the most common cause that many addicts die of...combination opiate toxicity, of which one of the many substances happen to have an exorbitant amount of fentanyl in it. There are reports that state that ME's nationwide have been debating for decades as to whether or not to have a uniformed report that would list all additional substances that may have contributed to death as opposed to some ME's who state the singular source as the cause of death when combination toxicity is involved. Each ME has their own discretion as to how they would list combination opiate toxicity in a report as opposed to a singular source that may have been the cause of death. This in turn contributes to the problem LE has been harping on for years. (This has nothing to do with whether or not an official autopsy is released to the public).

.

Prince was an incredibly smart Man, and I have a very hard time believing that he would intentionally take any street drug versus going to a professional treatment center and getting professional medical care. Prince was not someone who lived dangerously, so the idea that he would say: "Hey, I'm gonna take this poison and only God knows what the hell is in it".....just seems not of his character, at all. But, this case is just beyond crazy, so who knows?! Maybe he just made that split decision?

Smart. Very private. Quite possible he chose not to obtain via legal methods due to being so private, and would be so easy for him to do.
Just speculation;)

I have a lot of experience with hospice, you know people who are actively dying, and I have never heard of a drug intervention being done on a person in the last stages of any terminal disease. To the contrary many people in the last stages of life are addicts and their pushers are their physicians...terminal illness still makes no sense...but alas Tyka said...ugh

We have no proof that Prince was on board with an intervention. We are now hearing he was suppose to be at a holistic healing center. So what is the problem with someone in the last stages of life being addicted to drugs they are dying and should be comfortable. Not sure I follow the problem with that.

For a moment, let's assume Prince had a terminal illness snd did not know of an intervention, but his bff of 30+ years sets it up because he thinks he should what? Suffer?
Your pov isn't logical for the same reasons it's illogical that he himself would choose to go to rehab for opiates.
Please dont say his 30+ year bff didn't know he had a terminal illness. wink
It doesn't make sense.
He had problems with pain from doing thousands upon thousands of performances, many of which had after parties lasting upwards of two hours. It's not rocket science. Imho.
