Same. If I ever find the exact clip again, I'll post it. Words to that effect. Will.i.am comes across well in interviews

He did say that he'd be up to releasing it to his family or Katherine if she requested it.

Sounds like a nest egg for whenever these contracts with the estate are up.

....just saying.

I'm sure it'll come out at some point in our lives. Even if just a charitable single

When Michael Jackson‘s Demo tapes were found they had people add instrumentation to them. For example the piano demo of “Love never felt so good” They made two new versions. One with added instruments and one with Justin Timberlake. My question is how would you feel if they did the same to some of prince’s demos in the vault.

Dont agree with it unless it was also featured in it unedited format. _Production should ONLY come from those who were working with Prince at the time.

I don't think MJ would have minded the Timberlake version of "Love Never Felt So Good". For one, he and JT were friends (or at least friendly). And two, Michael was very aware of and interested in his chart accomplishments. I think he would have LOVED the fact that he had a top ten hit 5 years after his passing. He set some records with that song and added another tune to future greatest hits compilations. So yeah, I think he would have liked that. Prince, of course, was an entirely different animal.

Agree. People who do not think Michael would have liked it don't really know him at all. He loved him some JT and Britney yaaas gawd. He wanted to work with Akon and all the new rising artists and stars.

It's really not about MJ (or Prince) minding as far as I'm concerned. It's about me minding it. I'm just not interested. I'd rather they don't. I don't think it's necessary. Maybe I would enjoy the result the same way I enjoy this non canon, DJ-made 1987 medley that was released on a 12'' back then, but to me it would be little more than a fanmade edit of Jughead with Tony M edited out, Boris' Dawn or those repitched fanmade Camille tracks: just not something that Prince either did or approved, therefore not part of his canon. We have so much material to listen to and discover as is, we just don't need fanmade BS, even if it's "official".

Now IDK, maybe they'll release a drum n bass mix of Others Here With Us made by Flying Lotus and I'll think it's genius. I certainly don't mind Bill Laswell's posthumous work on those Bob Marley tracks for example. But still I don't want it, at least not before every damn track, version of track, rehearsal, soundcheck and live show in the vault has been released first!

Everybody loved deliverance. I think our P music will be bootleg only for years. Hendrix had those first couple albums, then nothing for 30 years.

They sort of did already with the Deliverance EP and the result wasn’t too bad. Still, I’d rather have the music as Prince left it.

They did it. They didn’t “Sort of do it”...people loved it. I on the other hand hated it
