I'd pick SOTT but I'd be pretty sad that I could only ever get to listen to one P album for the rest of my days wink I think 1999 is his best but, it's a one very specific style for the entire recording. SOTT would be a better long term pick based on diversity.

I didn't mean Purple Rain as an album is generic, just that it's an obvious choice.

1999....it’s my favorite Prince album and I think it’s simply the best thing he ever did

I just have to get you a shout out on that, 1999 was a badd arse album, In my opinion he could have gotten a Grammy for that album!

Purple Rain including the b-sides rounds up the highlights of his famous '80s run and puts it into a stunningly coheisve package. From start to finish just an amazing album.

1999.

I still hear something new every time I listen to it. There's a lot of stuff buried in those tracks.

This is too difficult to decide on, it's giving me a headache.

Can I devise my own bespoke "Now, This Is What I Call Prince" compilation mega album?

3 cd's, 12 songs per cd, I could live with that, biggrin

Gotta go with Emancipation as well, aside from about 2 tracks, just love this album.

The Hits-B-Sides because it has 3 discs and it has amazing songs from my favorite albums.

This would be my pick also.

Purple Rain. Don't care how generic it is, it's his most satisfying start to finish listening experience for me.

There's nothing generic about Purple Rain, it's pure genius.

This isn’t easy to choose but I think I am the only one to say The Gold Experience....this has nothing to do with when I became a fan, it’s just an album that gets me through tough times and I adore it. There are no wrong answers here folks biggrin

impossible to pick, but it would be one of:

Lovesexy
PR
1999

Parade
SOTT
Crucial bootleg

Most probably the boot would win.
