I'd pick SOTT but I'd be pretty sad that I could only ever get to listen to one P album for the rest of my days I think 1999 is his best but, it's a one very specific style for the entire recording. SOTT would be a better long term pick based on diversity.

I didn't mean Purple Rain as an album is generic, just that it's an obvious choice.
