A lot of Prince's best work was in falsetto. He should have used it more often. His early work was simply genius. His slow jams in falsetto are tops. Just saying cool

Most of us dig Kiss, but am I the only one who gets embarrassed if other people are around when he does the "ain't no particular sign, I'm more compatible with" scream?

I be like...jeez. Why did he have to do that?

That scream is not embarrassing at all, it's a brilliant Prince scream! The entire song is brilliant, which is why it's one of his most enduring hit songs.

Exactly. He took a cliche everybody knew and busted out a scream that made it cool all over again, Funny too. That's genius.

No. And along with Let’s Go Crazy it’s one of the few Prince songs where I much prefer the album version to anything live.

I definitely prefer the album version of Kiss to any live performance of it!

Me too, yet the version of the SOTT rehearsals is wonderful ,By the way the scream on Kiss is everything.

Actually a lot of people at the time didn’t get the falsetto thing. If it woulda came out before PR it wouldn’t have been a hit. KISS was really the only mid 80’s hit in falsetto. TMBGITW was a hit, but he prepared that mustang mix just in case.

What if When Doves Cry had been falsetto?

It wouldn't have worked as it did.

The falsetto here, reminds me of the early days of Prince 1977-1980, so I love it

I doubt it. The Falsetto adds so much fun to it.
