Think of the Calories Expended...

OK, I admit that when you have an extended holiday period and the weather outside is COLD, you stay inside and do weird stuff. The other night I just pulled up some You tube videos of the purple one and decided to exercise (dance) along with him. Just trying to keep up with him somewhat on the "Baby I'm a Star" video caused me to rethink my current gym routine.

And, that was just one song of the entire set he performed that night in Andover, MD. No wonder he was never one to gain weight. He must have burned off at least 5,000 calories or more doing a live show. That and following a good diet regimen. Ever see some of his clothes at the PP tour? I saw that he was short like me, but he had such a small waist.

Anyhow, try working out with Prince sometime, you will have another way to appreciate that he gave it his all while performing!! mushy

Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...

All it really takes for that is a youthful testosterone level and low body fat.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

i'm an old athlete but i don't dance, however, i did dance at an Elvis tribute i was performing in a couple years ago and it was exhausting and i only did one song. I still do my boxing/weight/martial arts training and i train hard but i could see how dancing could take as much out of you as anything, especially if you're carrying extra flab like i am. I could go rounds on the heavybag but I don't think i could keep up with doing that kind of stuff prince was doing, even if i knew how to dance. also, I'm starting to doubt what we hear about calories and so forth, i see too many people eating about what i eat and they are thin as a rail while i'm obese. and I still hear of boxers like Manny Pacquiao who claimed to eat 5000 calories per day, which is insane for that small a man and there would be no way he'd train hard enough to burn up the extra calories unless his own body chemistry was doing most of it on it's own without the exercise. Boxers only train a couple hours a day, not enough to burn off an excess 3000 calories so i have to think the body chemistry has a lot to do with it, genetics, and ya, sure, diet too. Prince, never known as a big eater, his weight, during his whole public life, that's 38 years, probably never fluctuated more than 30 pounds, even for a guy that small, that's not much variance. We're told he died at 112, Mayte says he weighed 118 when she was with him, he looked bigger and fuller in his earliest years and even in the purple rain years. the chubbiest i ever saw him was at the superbowl performance and even then, i doubt he weighed 140. so, i think it was just a matter of him not being an eater and being tiny more than his jumping around onstage. If what we're told was true, which it may not have been, that he didn't eat or sleep much, if he was burning body tissue that whole time he'd have wasted away a long time ago.

i think a lot of princes "not eating" may have been just for publicity, it's hard to find info from people he was close to where they don't mention how he loved to eat, i'm just seeing one now where hunstberry's kids are saying he loved their mom's spaghetti and how he had a sweet tooth (which a lot of people say). In the eighties, he was supposed to be a vegetarian who hardly ate but I did always wonder if that was nothing more than imitation of what MJ told people (was true in his case, he was positively underweight at 105 pounds).

Prince had been a vegetarian for years and would not allow meat inside Paisley Park. His chef said Prince ate healthy meals but did have a sweet tooth. He liked minestrone soup, so me and Prince did have something in common after all. lol

ya, i'm aware of that, i was talking about 20-30 years ago when he was still in his mysterious years. He didn't eat, didn't sleep made him more mysterious.
