I think its a gem--charming, sexy, quirky and sugary sweet. Something about it is so unique to me...

For your pleasure.. (hopefully)

I love it.

Used to be my fave ever when it came out. Must say it hasn't really got much play by me in recent years. Probably because I don't really have it as a separate track . shrug

Sensuous is the best word to describe this song, one could imagine themselves acting out every lyric of the song in a lovemaking session. If you've ever seen the video of Atrer 7's Ready or Not where the dancers are dancing in a waterfall type set, you could easily switch out that song and replace it with this and not miss a beat, of course, that would mean replacing the guys of After 7 as well.

When 2 R In Love love cloud9

I love EVERY song on Lovesexy, every sound, the screaming guitars (on some other songs), the tour, the hair, the clothes,

EVERYTHING was excellent about Lovesexy.

When 2 R In Love is a perfect Lovesexy ballad, fits much better in on Lovesexy than on The Black Album..

Lovesexy is so spiritual and uplifting, TBA is excellent as well (a classic also), but is more dark, more hard funky, the ballad does not fit in there as well...

"W2RIL".... is a top Prince-song 10/10 imo, a classic. I just love it now and back then, in '88!

When I listen to Prince it is usually the whole albums (via iTunes playlists, or via Vinyls or CDs).

Therefor the classic albums, I am listening to all songs - in order, without skipping any songs

1978-1995, these albums are listened to as "albums" - but, after the Warner years, post 1995 > then I skip a lot songs.. wink

( Ok this could be Off topic, but Art Official Age is maybe the only album post-Warner, without skipping a song, excellent album.. post-1995 that is..... )

Adorecream

I absolutely love it and must be tone deaf as I can not tell any difference between the Black Album and Lovesexy versions. But it fits a lot better on Lovesexy. The sequencing is fanstastic, after Lovesexy in which Prince drives the dragon away with a guitar solo, and I wish u heaven in which he is praising the girl and wishing her praise after the sex session of "When 2 R in Love"

.

I have always loved this song, that sexy and creamy falsetto, the arrangements and the subject matter - sex, having baths, lines like "Play with your body, til your rivers an ocean - Come bathe with me, we will drown each other in each other emotions - Nothin's 4bidden and nothin's taboo"

.

It is a Top 5 of my Prince songs for me and between 1999 - 2007 was my number one, until I really rediscovered Adore again. Yes I said it, this song is Adore and We can Fuck quality! Prince's best music is the subtle sex cuts like this, he is charming your panties off and sexually crooning graphic fantasies liking forcing the run of semen lol Sexy, dirty, clever and pure genius.

.

Their bodies shiver in mere contemplation of (Penetration) let alone the act! cool

Interesting, I hear two people now saying that it fits better on Lovesexy than the Black Album. I feel the other way around. On Lovesexy it doesn't fit at all. The production is much less overproduced, it has much more space/room to breathe than the other songs (much like Alphabet St., which I never felt fit on that album either)

On the Black Album on the other hand, it kind of fits in the whole. Production feels consistent. If 2 Nigs had been replaced with something better fitting with the other tracks, it would have been one of Prince's best albums.

Still, the song, to me, is pleasant but unremarkable. It is fit for purpose on the black album as a ballad (not really needed as such on lovesexy), but it's not one of the songs that gets a lot of airplay outside of integral playing of the albums it is on. (which is almost always the black album, Lovesexy is one of Prince's poorer efforts, imho.)

Never really been a big fan of this song and always used to skip it on the album, which was possible on the vinyl lol. I find it too slow, syrupy and it kind of has an unfinished demo quality to it.

This was the first Prince song I heard after he passed that made me realize how talented he was. I heard it during the Dortmund piano medley and was blown away how he could seamlessly go from one song to the next live in front of 20,000 people.

About the only thing I liked about it was the Beavis and Butthead review of the video. Now, THAT was good!

It's not on youTube but here is their review of Sinead O'Connor singing "Nothiing Compares 2 U". Enjoy!

Beavis and butthead also did commentary for "the most beautiful girl in the world".They never made fun of Prince, not like they made fun of other singers or bands in their videos.

I wish I could find their "When 2 R in Love" video. IIRC, all they kept saying was how the only person cool enough to pull off a completely black video was Prince.
