It shows you the agenda that some people have that Prince never really had a reason to use pain meds in the first place. Or the idea that he never saw a doctor. Just stupid and shows a lack of critical thinking skills.

in Mayte's book she say something about folks wanting him to join Scientology and Prince

says i don't need anyone to tell me how to be with God. this Let me know that Prince had the where with

all to make a decision to have surgery if he so chose. I don't think he would have let a "religion" keep

him from that. i think he knew God didn't mind surgery. imo.

.

Oh, thank the good Lord that Prince never got into that Scientology B.S.!! Prince was a God loving Man; he didn't need that brain-washing malarkey!!

.

Yes, Prince was seeing a doctor, but he wasn't getting proper pain management and he was taking pills prescribed in KJs name. So that tells me, he was trying to manage his pain all on his own (well, with the help of his enablers); and that is not good.

But he had the surgery in 2009 and May have been on an Rx since Scotty the engineer said he was in a lot of pain during the Musicology tour.

Wasn't the hip surgery confirmed on the autopsy report?

I didn’t think the autopsy was ever released. confused

The short report was releashed and it did list scars. The detailed report will not be made avalible to the public.

I have a weird feeling that the full autopsy will be leaked soon in the future

I may have imagined this, but didn't Reelz channel do with segment that was the Autopsy of Prince?

It has been mentioned here multiple times as far back as 2005/2006 that there was a hip problem with possible surgery.

I'm glad he did it and I loathe myself for every time I had the thought of him degenerating without even trying.

It's just logic he started painkillers before the surgery, or he wouldn't need surgery in the first place — duh!

I'm in awe when I look at all the 2010's, he went all peace and love
while being in constant pain. He wasn't bitter. He didn't shut down.
He was cooler than ever. And in pain.

It's really not that hard if you want a date: just look at the performances for every year,
and the one where the splits are gone, it's the beginning.

I don't like the Rave Smurf Suite because I can still picture him
doin' splits in repetition in 1999 (at 41), not knowing (or maybe careless?)
what he's putting his body through.

From what I’ve seen, the people who question whether Prince has surgery do so not because they doubt he had pain/injuries, but because they think he wouldn’t have chosen surgicsl treatment due to his religious beliefs. (I personally don’t agree with that — I think he had surgery — but thats the reasoning).
-
I haven’t seen people posting here who deny that he ever had pain. I must’ve missed the posts that you’re alluding to.

That was Doug E. Fresh.

I was told that around the same time (somewhere after her departure from the NewPower Soul Festival), the CoS was helping Chaka kick her alcohol (and possibly other) habits.

Ive seen that , in fact watched it a few times

because I noted the limp and that it was obvious he was trying really hard

to disguise it as his usual swag..

it comes across as slightly exaggerated until you watch again and then it guts you !

Musicology period was when I first noticed a change in his complexion too...

He lost a little of his Glow....

Thank God others believe this as well. It frustrates me when people get so made and defensive when you even suggest that he had surgery! I mean come on...there are people that need hip replacements/or procedures who never danced a day in their life. Prince on the other hand jumped off pianos, high risers, did splits left and right in heels to boot. His shows were 2.5-3 hours long then after shows. This man worked his ass off for over 35+ years. Common sense that he would most likely have issues at some point in his life. Does anyone recall when he first started wearing the wedges instead of heels?

I first remember seeing wedges during Musicology tour. But he still wore the heels a lot too.

I saw him do the splits on 9th Dec 2000 and the Aladdin. I can't recall anyone on here saying they saw him do the splits subsequently.
