But who knows if any hanky panky is going on? Can anyone honestly say there is not some mess happening to some of his material???!!!

It is very tightly controlled. There are key's, codes, security check, the whole works.

The vault is now in safe hands.

I think it's disgraceful that the masters ever left Paisley. They should have done whatever was needed to keep the jewels in the temple. Regardless of all else. It was that important.

Why would you want them to be left at PP? Some were molded, water damage, rotting, etc.

They are doing what they need to do to protect them, more than what was ever done at PP..because, they are that important.

Yeah, They would have had to build a whole new building to meet/match the same type of environment they are in now, correct? And there was no type of such building in MN or surrounding states?

Also Where are Prince Master Tapes that he got back from Warner Bros. in 2014?

langebleu said on another thread I tried to start that , "It was the rights to the Master Tapes that transferred to Warners under assignment and subsequently reverted back to Prince."

But I thought there were actual Master Tapes that Prince wanted? Confused? sad

Some things are spiritual and symbolic. Treasure and respect his mystique above all else. They could have built whatever was necessary at Paisley and made the process of protecting Prince's genius part of the draw.

No, treasure and respect his legacy, and in order to do that, keep the vault safe at all costs.

Build a building? That's laughable, where would they get the money to do that? Everything is tied up in the courts...still.

Sounds nice. But how long would that have taken while more tapes decayed. And like PennyPurple money it tied up in the courts, even if they got a loan agianst estate. How much money would have been needed to build such a building?

Didn't Prince actually have the physical master tapes in his possession all along, he just did not legally OWN them - legally they were property of WB? (As per their contractual agreement)

I recall in Michael koppelman's podcast he told of how one day he was alone at Paisley park with nothing to do so he pulled out the original master tape of Sign o the times and listened to it excitedly, saying how awesome it was to hear in its original form. This would suggest the master tapes were kept in the vault?

Secondly Susan Rogers says when she began working for Prince and saw a need to keep all his recordings in the one place - beginning what would become the vault - she inquired with his management where all his earlier tapes were kept and was told they were with WB in Burbank California. Rogers said she then had them all sent over from Burbank to to be kept in Minneapolis.. So that would suggest all his pre-1983 albums/master tapes would've been in the vault too

You can do both things: portect the tapes and protect the mystique around the brand. What's laughable is that anyeone claimed it was an either/or proposition. What's REALLY going on? 'Um yeah we need to move the master recordings to California for, um, cleaning' Prince would of been like 'nigga please!!!!!!!'. The industry shady. Posession is everything. California a different legal jurisdiction should it come down to a different fight down the line. Who got more power there: artists or labels? Restoration should have been Paisley or nothing.

Like it or not they are in Cali. under lock and key. And they are being preserved, as they should be.

Have you not read the court documents, telling how safe and secure the contents of the vault are? Or what they are going to do to preserve those contents? If not, I suggest you do.
