Just finished it there this morning. Great, GREAT book. I'd only have the most minor of minor fan quibbles with tiny bits here and there, and that's only because it's so damn comprehensive.

I really loved reading the We Can Fuck story and then realising you must have done most of those interviews years ago. Do you hear it at the time Madhouseman?

I also find it fascinating that despite the most comprehensive work possible done on recording, thorough interviews and really well informed speculation the book is completlely honest in telling us that we still mostly have no idea what was going on in his mind; his creative process back then is still very close to opaque and we haven't a clue how many songs he was throwing together himself when people weren't looking.

Thank you and it is pretty damn comprehensive! hahaha! I agree, no matter what, we won't know what was going on in his head, but hopefully the music and knowing when/where/why it was created will help us focus on what he was like as a person and what he was going through as a man.

Yes. I was familiar with pretty much all of the songs that were discussed in the interviews.

If you have minor tweaks of information, etc. that I've gotten wrong, please feel free to send me an org note. I'll update things as I can for any reissue or future volume. I want to make sure it is right and I already know several minor tweaks that I need to adjust. There are one or two minor information errors and a few typos/formatting issues, but they don't affect the big picture.

Please post a review on Amazon. The more reviews (especially great ones) the more likely others will find it and that I'll be able to make volume 2 of the series. thanx again!

So I checked the status of my order and it said "out for delivery" .The mail ran and the book wasn't in the box.i said well maybe tomorrow...Then 2 hours went by and another mail lady car came by the house and dropped off the book.I guess it's such a great book that it deserves to be delivered by itself. Here it is! I can't wait to read it tonight

Mine came today. Solid chunk of paper and cardboard--feels good in the hand.

Oh, and of course it's full of information (I'd actually already finished reading the ebook--but I'm glad the physical thing is here now).

Because it's a CGI hoax.

There's a fine line between a lie and a continuing hoax. I don't know his reasons for including that section. But it isn;t diectly tied to the studio work at the heart of the book, so maybe just a bit of whimsy?

Did anyone ever doubt the appearance of Michael Jackson and Prince at that James Brown concert? That's news to me. It is one of the few times I've seen Prince on stage where things just didn't work. He needs to control the situation to perform his best. I guess the USA for Africa thing also wouldn't have worked, for the reasons he gave.

It's an Org running joke: whenever the subject of the infamous trio comes up, you have to dismiss it as being a montage. Of course it really happened.
