Eminem Mentions Prince on "Walk On Water"

"And I try not to listen to nonsense, but if you bi****s are trying to strip me of my confidence? Mission accomplished. I'm not God sent... Nas, Rakim, Pac, Big, James Todd Smith, And I'm not Prince." - Eminem

Just heard the reference and YES Em you are not Prince not even close.

The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Remember there is only one destination and that place is U
All of it. Everything. Is U.

Its good! Really heartfelt and thoughtful lyrics. What rapper talks about how he has fell off and insecure about even doing it anymore in his own song? Nice work!

Public Enemy, Run DMC, and the like, those were days when rap music said something important, had lyric flow, wit, and some fun.
As for this angry, miserable, moody so and so, I'd rather cut my ears off then listening to any of his nursery rhyming drivel.

Gave this a few spins earlier n 2 my folks who were Em fans. Kinda dope, catchy. Bey's part is well done. Em tryin. He killed it w/ last line about writing "Stan". So like him lol. As 4 P line. I thought it was a diss reading it here, but it was a nice, if unnecessary shoutout smile.

For all time I am with you, you are with me.

lol

It's the curse of the standard
That the first of the Mathers discs set

Always in search of the verse that I haven't spit yet
Will this step just be another misstep
To tarnish whatever the legacy, love or respect
I’ve garnered? The rhyme has to be perfect, the delivery flawless
And it always feels like I’m hittin' the mark
’Til I go sit in the car, listen and pick it apart
Like, "This shit is garbage!"

God's given me all this, still I feel no different regardless
Kids look to me as a god, this is retarded
If only they knew, it's a facade and it's exhaustive

And I try not to listen to nonsense
But if you bitches are tryin’ to strip me of my confidence
Mission accomplished

I'm not God-sent, Nas, Rakim, Pac, B.I.G., James Todd Smith
And I'm not Prince, so…

blahblahblah...it reads better in font, than it sounds coming from him...his voice is annoying and sounds cartoonish, and he has no natural soul or flow in his delivery...

Words are inciteful...

But if you listen to it through the eyes of music and the timing/groove/rhythm, it doesn't make much of an impact..

It's 2017, and we still have some who use such old fashioned, derogatory words as 'retarded'. Great lyricist...not!
If only we could lock away people like him (i.e 50 Cent) and throw away the key.

New artists trying to do their thang is all well and good, but don't diss the fathers that did it first. Respect for the old skool who put rap on the map. Peace!

I'm not really an Em fan; I can take him or leave him, but he has his own unique style and he could rap his way out of a paper bag. Gotta give him credit. lol
