Thank you for posting. I hadn't watched this in a while.
Prince has a lot to say here.
"No child is ever bad from the beginning, they only imitate their atmosphere."
He was right.
I think Prince at this time in his life was at an extreme with wanting a sexual revolution.

New Wave.

Reminds me of Adam Ant.

It has a funny arrangement doesn't it? - The way it never returns with a final chorus, just goes off on that strange "new breed leaders" tangent.

Excellent, this song I love it very deeply.. cool

This is the order I bought my Prince records:

1999 (1983) (my first )
Purple Rain (1984)
ATWIAD (1985)
Controversy (1985)
(then the rest...)

Side 1 of the Controversy vinyl.. wow I was amazed instantly! worship

The sound was totally fresh and different - it was somethin NEW.

Sexuality, the song/ production was a highlight to me. Very dynamic. music

Jack U Off was another, and of course the title track and Do Me Baby.

Just excellent music. To me the whole album is classic Prince music.

Right, I love the whole album (maybe Ronnie... not so much).

Controversy 9/10 imho: heart

Prince 4Ever. heart

I always think of Play In The Sunshine whenever I hear Sexuality and vice versa.

Saw him live a few weeks ago. Did the whole Kings of the wild frontier album in sequence and then the hits. Was very good.

You know he dated Vanity and Andre did some producing for him?

Side 1 of Controversy is just perfect.. Prince introduces himself as a sexy idealist with two killer electro funk jams and ends with the mother of all slow jams. Wonderful. Side 2 had its ups and downs. Private Joy is a good little new wave pop song, Ronnie Talk 2 Russia is a silly political satire, Let's Work is a funk jam that really isn't as good as the two funk jams on side 1, Annie Christian is Prince at his freakiest paranoid best, Jack U Off is a porno version of a Disney soundtrack. All in all, a weird little album, but that's Prince...

To me, Can't Stop this Feeling and Play In... sound a little similar. They sound like what I call offs of each other. By that I mean Prince hits notes in one song that would fit in the other song.
