Vinyl Reissues Problem

As a huge collector of vinyl, I knew I HAD to have the reissues that were brought out. However, I’ve encountered that with the 1999, Controversy, ATWIAD and Parade pressings there have been multiple skips and jumps throughout each, in particular the first or second song on each side. My needle is absolutely perfect and plays through fine on each vinyl that I own. I was wondering if anyone else had come across this because it’s very frustrating. I actually bought a second copy of Controversy in hopes that I had been unlucky and purchased and faulty pressing. I was wrong, as both copies were skipping so much to the point that they’re literally unplayable. Again, if anyone is aware of these issues please let me know cos I really want to enjoy my vinyl!

That's why I listen to Prince on cd, and not on 'hip' vinyl... and when I want to listen to any of the albums you mention on LP, I take one of the records I bought in the 80s. They play perfectly well!

Hell with that, Prince albums sound better on vinyl, especially the singles.

Stuff like that can be down to a bad pressing. My Dirty Mind reissue does that on side one track one, and I have a copy of The Diary of Alicia Keys that does that for the first track on both sides.

I really want to buy original LPs but they’re so expensive, especially since his passing. I thought I wasn’t taking any risks when buying the reissues but I was wrong. :/

Let's hope they open more pressing plants in the future because that's the main reason why they are 25.00 and up. I don't mind so much as I know it is for a good cause and I'm getting a real product rather than a mp3.
