If you love Prince playing rock with a killer band, go for it

IMO, when it comes to rock, NPG is better than 3rd Eye Girl.

listened to it last night, it's not bad, like i said, people/fans tend to have seasons with a public figure, when they can do no wrong/then they can do no right/then they comeback. Sometimes criticism isn't granted wisely. And with Prince, it seems nothing is unanimous here, one person thinks such and such was awful, the next thinks it was his most genius work.

It doesn't have to be all black and white.
Try putting C&D in the background, softly, for a week.

It's a great little album that doesn't deserve any of the bashing.
And a very private one too, it's "Warner Wars Slave"’s scrapbook.

That alone makes it a little like TBA, a bizarre object,
which with you can decide to have fun with or not (no please, don't rub yourself on the cover).

I'm just saying the shit is there, and in large amounts.
"Check! Check! Rolling!"
Holy shit, I'm gonna blast it "Th'leppath'c'lly" to 11 to your daddy ol'earz right now!

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
This young man with a talented soul
Died when he wanted 2

So he shall not be pitied
Nor shall the guilty be forgiven
Until they find it in their hearts to
Right the wrong

I’ve never been able to buy or listen to this album... Is it Good or is it not so good ?

Bought it when it came out. Just as I was looping back to listening to secular music. Not much of a clue to what was happening in Prince world. Scunched up my nose 1st listen, stuck it away for a few months, then listened again and loved it. shrug Not currently a main go to album, but it does speak.

i've always loved it. I think it was a third or fourth album of his that I purchased. I bought it along with OLD FRIENDS 4 SALE and MY MIND WAS BLOWN....

there were these two albums that covered so much material that it was insane.... C&D is a driven rock album and OLD FRIENDS is a throwback style great album with some of his greatest sounding (engineered produced) music,,, I can't imagine people disliking these unless they're merely singles buyers....the shit in there is brillliant...particularly the musical performances by everyone....oh yeah...

didn't u knowtice that? wink

There was so much going on during that time. In just about 2 1/2 years, we had:

Come

The Gold Experience

Chaos & Disorder

Emancipation

Not to mention:

NPG Exodus
Girl 6 Soundtrack

1-800-New-Funk

Blankman song
Pret-A-Porter song

So, Chaos & Disorder at the time was just another fun Prince album. It was labeled as a Contractual Obligation filler album, and I think a lot of the fans thought of it that way. It's about 1/2 "rock" and 1/2" R&B if you can narrow it down to those 2 categories, but there are quite a few gems on there.

Shouldn't be too hard to find.
