What is the most iconic Prince personal effect, you could own? For me, it is his cross. It was an item that was heavily linked and associated with Prince in his career. It connects with his religion and his difficult relationship with religion, whether it be the Lord's prayer in controversy, God, The backmasked epilogue to Darling Nikki, the Cross - well you know all the references too.

Why not a practising christian myself, I feel his ownership of his faith was brave, whether it be God is Love, Love is God, Girls and Boys love God Above in Anna Stesia, or releasing the Rainbow Children (a superb album which confronts with a difficult and polarizing faith.

Here is the rub. As we know Prince became a JW, the cross was seen as a fallacy and he started talking about the staros, the song the Cross became the Christ etc.

What happened to the cross? DId he throw it away? Is it in the vault? Did he ride over it in his motorcycle like Wendy's character hypothesised about the Purple Rain demo in Purple Rain film?

As a bonus, what is the personal possession you would most want. I would say the cross would be up there, as well as Christopher Tracy outfits from UTCM.

Ps, does anybody know the origins of his cross, who gave it to him, etc

I would have to say for me it would be one of his love symbol necklaces. That symbol was him and nothing but him.

I can respect that choice. It is strange but for me the cross was a more personal statement as it spoke of his faith. For me his cross said more about Prince than a blinged out rapper for example.

A symbol necklace would be bad, but I would still go Cross.

It would be incredible if had annotated it, and underlined his favorite passages. It was interesting seeing it in the Chaos and Disorder cd/tape booklet.

One gossipy tabloid (so no real source) had a woman said that Prince would read scripture to her in bed and discuss God (this was pre-JW days). 23 scriptures in a one night stand indeed!
