What are some P albums you might consider unofficial trilogies or pairs?

Saw this question somewhere and thought there would be no better place to ask it than the org.

*
What are some P albums that in your mind you associate together as sort of unofficial pairs or trilogys? Obviously Emancipation discs 1-3 wouldn't count since they are essentially an official trilogy, but say - Musicology, 3121, and Planet Earth being sort of stripped down back to basics and short pop oriented songs. They don't have to have been released back to back though - Rainbow Children and Lotus Flower are really good sonic experiences and there is a big emphasis on mood and instrumental craziness. I always think of them as a pair.

*
What do you all think? I don't want to take up more room so I won't post them yet but I can think of a good number of these, and although some might be a bit controversial I find myself listening to these albums in groups so it interests me a lot.

Dirty Mind-Controversy-1999, let's call it the rude boy or the sex trilogy.
Purple Rain-Around the World in a Day-Parade was where he matured and explored his romantic side.
Black Album-Lovesexy-Batman was about the battle between good and evil.

There are a few others I think of -

.

like The Truth and One Night Alone.

.

There is another I'll message here later but I want to listen back to them both and really think about it because it might get a lot of hate but I will stand by my decision on it.

The obvious unofficial pair is "The Black Album"/"Lovesexy".

To some extent I can see a similar situation with "Come"/"The Gold Experience".

'Parade' as the starter

'Sign O The Times' as the main course

'Lovesexy' for dessert

Besides some of the proposals above that are pretty relevant...

.

Obviously the Newpower Pak (though it could be considered an official trilogy) Newpower Soul / Come 2 My House / GCS 2000, with Beautiful STrange as a live extention of the whole project.

.

3121 and Milk & Honey are twin albums.

.

The Slaughterhouse and The Chocolate Invasion, themselves being sucessor to the shelved High / Peace duology.

.

Carmen Electra is also, very clearly, a female answer to prince in terms of themes.

.

To some extent many albums recorded and released at about the same time can be considered as forming an ensemble (for example 1999 / What Time Is It? / Vanity 6).

I can see something of a pair also in "Parade"/"The Family".

Maybe not so evident, but there are many things shared by the two.

It's impossible to listen to Controversy without The Time.

Love Symbol and Carmen Electra are essential listening.

For me SOTT, Black and Lovesexy are one album - flawlessly woven together.

Graffiti Bridge and Pandemonium are a perfect fit.

New Power Soul / Come 2 My House / GCS2000 are in sync.

...and others!

lol
